~Disclaimer/AN~ I'd like to point out that this is the 2nd in my Brother America series, following the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I suggest reading Brother America first before this one. Enjoy!

♤Callie's POV♤

I twirl my pencil skillfully as I sit, slouched forward in my desk at school. This beautifully warm, sunny day is being ruined by my math teacher's voice. It's not like I need to listen, I know everything already. I am a genius, and we can give cudos to Bruce for this particular lesson.

"Callie," my teacher snaps her red finger nails in front of my face, making me stop my pencil twirling. "Pay attention. You're here at Seaview to learn, not daydream," she scolds.

"Sorry Mrs. Hudson," is all I say. She sighs and continues teaching. I let my pencil twirl around my fingers again.

Truth be told, I was feeling extra antsy today. This morning felt promising for a mission. I sigh softly. The question is, why? It's not like Steve and I have received anything from Fury since Tony and Pepper's wedding. Nothing.

Zip.
Zilch.
Zero.

At least, I haven't. Steve has gone in a few times with Natasha, but I never understood why he wouldn't invite me, too. Fury is most likely behind it.

I am slightly hurt. I know there hasn't been much activity since New York, but that doesn't mean there aren't bad guys out there, and I can pummel them. Maybe since I just figured everything out about me and my connection, Fury doesn't want to endanger me. Nice man.

"Excuse me?" A voice over the classroom loudspeaker inturrupts Mrs. Hudson.

"Yes?" She asks.

"May we see Callie Rogers in the office for dismissal please?"

"Yep," Mrs. Hudson hands me a pack of papers, smiling warmly. "This is for the DC trip in a few days. You're the last one," she tells me.

I smile, waving bye. Just because Mrs. Hudson is my math teacher doesn't mean I don't like her as a teacher.

I walk confidently to the office, wary to see who is picking me up at this hour in the school day. I step outside into the warm April air, seeing my ride. A Chevy Silverado sits in a parking space a few steps away, with a license plate that reads "Outtatime." Only one parent would have that license plate, and that's Steve Rogers. Ever since I introduced him to Back to the Future, he was fascinated. We both want a DeLorean now.

The driver's side window rolls down to reveal Natasha, and I see Steve sitting in the passangers seat. I raise an eyebrow.

"Get in loser, we're gonna kill some bad guys," Nat smirks. I smile, then reach my hand into the car to hand Steve the DC packet. He looks at it, confused.

"What's this?" he asks.

"DC paper. Just sign it before we leave."

"Okay then. Do I get a please?" He looks up at me as he grabs a pen. I sigh, smiling.

"Please?" I ask sweetly.

"Of course," he smiles sarcastically, dropping his head to scribble his signature. He hands it back and I rush to the office, hand it in, and rush back out, opening the truck door and fastening my seat belt. Nat puts the truck in gear and begins driving to our location.

"Why the early pick up?" I wonder, leaning forward as we get on the highway. Nat changes lanes.

"We have a mission to complete," Steve informs. I sit back.
