I sat in the study reading my wife's next novel, I've been proof reading her work before we send it to our publisher when I heard our kids Lucas(14) and Jane(8) come in.

“Daddy! Mommy asks if it's okay to bother you?” Jane cheekily asks

“Janey we are already bothering Daddy.”Lucas told his sister

“Where's your Mum Luke?” I asked

“In the living room with Aunt Perrie.” Lucas answered

“Okay goofballs let's go.” I said as I carried Jane and Lucas followed

We got downstairs and I see my beautiful wife holding Perrie's 3rd child Ivy(3).

“Babe, where's Zayn?” I asked as I set down Jane gently to the couch.

“He picked up Emily from camp and Andrew from football practice.” Perrie responds. Emily was now 15, and her brother Andrew was the same age as Jane.

“Mom, can I play with baby Ivy?” Jane asked

“She's sleeping honey.” Jade said as Jane sat beside her.

“So who's coming?”I asked

“Uncle Niall is here.” Lucas said as he glanced at the windows.

Niall and Jesy was with their children Nina(14) and Jackson(5).

“Hello Janey!” Jesy greeted as she carried Jackson.

“Took you long enough neighbor.” I teased

“Niall's parents called, it was a long call.” Jesy responds

Then we heard a car park by the driveway and I was sure it was Liam's

“Liam just got here and almost hit me.” Niall said panting.

“Dad you should have tied your shoes in the porch.” Nina told her Dad

Liam and Cher got out of the car with their children Landon(14) and Claire(9)

“Dad! You almost hit Uncle Niall!”Claire said as they entered the house.

“Sorry about that Niall.”Liam said as he sat beside Niall.

“So what's the plan?” Jade asked

“Let's wait for the Styles.” Cher said.

And on cue we hear their car beep. Leigh-Anne got down with her little angle Heather(4) being carried by Harry.

“Damn cat, it came out of nowhere." Harry said

“Not while your carrying Heather.” Leigh-Anne told him

“Sorry.” Harry responds

“Finally. So what's the plan?”Jade asks

“Italy?” Cher asks

“But you just went there as a family.” Jesy answers

“Paris?” Leigh-Anne suggests

“Honey mooned there.”Niall responds

“Greece?” Liam asks

“Jade and Lou had their honeymoon there.”Cher answers.

“Let's just go to L.A.” Harry suggests.

“Nope!” Perrie responds

“Perrie loves L.A. But never goes there for the holidays.”Zayn said as he came in.

“Andrew I told you, it just doesn't work that way.” Emily argues with her brother as they followed Zayn in the house.

“Just go to Hawaii.” Emily suggests

“Your kid is a genius!” Louis responds

“Everyone agrees?”Perrie asks and everyone nods.

“It's settled then. Next month we go to Hawaii.” Perrie adds

“So lunch?” Jade asks and we all go to the dining room.

“Hey babe, the book feels like a metaphor.”I said hugging her from the back.

“Of what happened to us? Yeah. I changed the story a little bit and made it into a Children's book about friendship. You're the Eagle.” Jade said kissing me on the cheeks.

We sat there, looking at how far we've all gone through. Jade and I are now novelists, I write fiction novels and Jane writes children's books. Zayn does our illustrations and he sometimes has an art show at London while Perrie now is a well known Journalist. Leigh-Anne became a radio broadcaster and her husband Harry became a novelist as well. Niall and Jesy have teamed up even in their work, Jesy designing buildings and houses while Niall was her Engineer. Liam has a Coffee shop and a franchise of  Pizza Palace while Cher became a professor in Foreign Studies.

We've all gone through shit but we got our acts together and finally made it good into the real world. We have put our pasts behind us, not forgetting it but focusing on a brighter future not only for us but for our children.

“Babe, why so silent?” Jade asks as we washed the dishes.

After we ate our lunch everyone had to go back to their work except Perrie and Zayn who helped out in cleaning the dishes.

“I am just so blessed to have you and the kids.”I said

“Cheese balls!”Jade said as she blushed

“Who would have thought that Louis, the school's rebel, was going to end up as a writer with 2 kids and a loving wife?”I said

“I knew you had it in you.” Jade said as she kissed me.

“Get a room!”Lucas teased as he took something from the fridge.

“Oh Lucas. That was PG.” Zayn teased

“Too much information Dad.”Emily then teased.

“Come one Luke, let's leave the adults.”Emily adds putting her hands over her cousin's shoulder

“We did good.”Zayn said

“Yeah we did good.”I repeated.
