Chapter 11

Frankie's POV

Lunch wasn't very eventful. The boys seemed to get on well after Olivia and I forced them to talk to each other by ignoring them when they tried to speak to us. Clever, I know.

Once we parted ways, me and Nick decided to head home since Ariel was getting tired and Sebastian was starting to get grumpy, which we noticed he does when he needs a nap.

When we arrived home both of the kids were asleep, so we took them straight to their rooms and tucked them in.

It was still early in the afternoon, so Nick and I decided to watch a movie before making homemade pizzas for dinner.

We chose the new Netflix film called 'Red Notice' with Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, and Gal Gadot.

I grabbed the blanket from the airing cupboard before sitting on the sofa and pressing play. Halfway through the film Nick moved closer and pulled the blanket over him, I turned to look at him, but his eyes were glued to the screen.

1hr and 57minutes later, the film came to end.

Nick stood up, stretching his arms over his head causing his t-shirt to rise slightly revealing his toned stomach, and gosh was that a sight to see.

I quickly stood up, folding the blanket back up and putting it in the airing cupboard with the rest of them before heading to the kitchen and getting the pizza dough ingredients out.

After the dough was made, we split it in half and took a piece each before rolling it out and adding the toppings on.

The pizzas were in the oven, so we decided it was time to wake the little ones up for their dinner.

I decided to wake Sebastian because Ariel is much less grumpy when Nicholas wakes her up. Favouritism, if you ask me.

I walked into Seb's room to realise that he was tossing and turning in the bed like he was having a bad dream. I quickly rush over to him and gently shake him awake.

He shoots upwards, tears falling from his eyes. Once he spots me, he launches himself into my arms and cried into my shoulder whilst I rub his back telling him 'Everything's okay' and 'he's safe and nothing's gonna happen with me and Nick in the house'

Once he's calmed down I pull away and sit him on my lap properly so that he's sideways.

"What's wrong, bud?" I ask, wiping away his tears.

"I had a bad dream" He mumbles tiredly

"What was it about?"

"They took me away from you and Nick" He blubbers, tears starting to fall again.

"Oh sweetheart, that's not gonna happen, alright?" I knew I couldn't promise him anything but as far as I'm aware I'm not letting this guy or his sister go back, whether Nick agrees or not.

"You promise?"

"I can't promise anything but I will put up a fight if they try to take you away, you got that?" I pulled him closer, my heart slowly breaking

"Okay" He wraps his arms around my neck and squeezes me into a tight hug

After he's calmed down, I stand up picking him up in the process and head downstairs. Nick has already got Ariel in her highchair and is now getting her pureed food ready.

He gives me a questioning look, to which I mouth that I'll tell him later, he nods before going back to feeding Ariel.

I grab the pizzas out of the oven once the timer had gone off and plated it up for both of us, cutting a slice of each and giving it to Sebastian to eat.

I had a cheese, bacon, mushroom and olive pizza whilst Nick had a cheese, olive, sausage and tomato.

We sat down at the table with Ariel and Sebastian. We ate in silence, no words needed to be spoken.

Once dinner was eaten and the plates were cleared, we decided to sit down and watch cars since it was Sebastian's favourite film.

Since it was only around half five, we decided that Ariel can stay downstairs with us until half six and then we will put her to bed. We would usually put her to bed at half five but since she'd only just woken up from her afternoon nap, we thought it'd be okay for her to sit with us, she will most likely fall asleep anyway.

Nicholas sat in the armchair with Ariel cradled in his arms, whilst Seb and I cuddled on the sofa, since he woke up after the bad dream he has been attached to my hip and won't leave my side. He seemed so shaken up, but I didn't know what to do in this type of situation, so I just comforted him to my best ability.

The movie started with Lightning McQueen talking to himself about the race that he was about to participate in.

An hour into the film Nick got up and tiptoed upstairs to put Ariel in her crib.

He was good with the kids., better than me anyway. If he stayed in their lives, they are gonna be the most caring and smart children ever.

Soon he came back down.

Instead of sitting back in the armchair, he picked up Seb, who was intently watching the film that he didn't even realise what was happening and sat in the space next to me whilst placing Sebastian into his lap.

I looked over to question what he was doing only to find him looking right back at me. Talk about awkward.
