Chapter 6: A New Beginning

Here I am again walking to school, when I get that one common call from Jackson around 8:00 am in the morning. I answer the phone to hear Jackson desperately trying to make out something.

"Martin! There's this proper hot girl that just moved into my school called 'Ellie Sparx', I think thats how you say it. She's so fit man, and she's in my Maths class this morning".

"Nice, how old is she?" I reply laughing.

"13, same age as me". Jackson excitedly answering back. 

"Haha, call me back when you actually start talking to her okay?"

"Obviously I will, she's so pretty, man!"

I start giggling, "Well we'll just have to wait and see, I'm gonna have to end the call in a second though. Im literaly right outside school"

"Alright, I'll see ya on xbox tonight then" 

"Byee", I ended the call. I'm normally that person that abruptly wants to end the call before any awkwardness starts to happen. And believe me, I have had many bad experiences when it comes to 'awkwardness'.

So already, it's 8:30, yep half an hour of my life spent on the phone. And by then my phone has already lost 30% of it's battery from 100 this morning. Whilst walking in, I see Danny, who is casually walking his way up to his Kadie. Forgetting about his last message, I shout "Hey Danny!" Across the corridor. He looks up and stares directly at my cold pale face. Noticing me, he purposely ignores me, looking back down and walking straight ahead as if he never even saw me. I then realised what he had said to me, not trying to bring out the hate, I walked in the complete opposite direction heading towards the canteen.

There I saw Alissa who was sat alone, listening to music. I wondered why she wasn't with anyone. 

"Umm, hey Alissa? Lessons start in a couple minutes you know! Where is everyone?" I asked her looking puzzled.

Startled, she stood up and said "Oh, I'm just chilling for a while before I go upstairs to Science. Everyone's already left. I erm... I was hoping to see someone. That's all"

"Oh, okay then, cool? Whatcha listening to ey?"

"Nothing special, just Payphone..."

"Maroon 5 right?"

"Yeah" At this moment the awkwardness started to pull in.

"Well Yano, I should probably get to lesson. I'll see you around", I quickly said, trying to break up the awkwardness,

"See ya!" Alissa shouted, and I quickly walked round the corridor to arrive in the English base.

Meanwhile, Alissa continued to keep a lookout for someone. 'Hurry up Ace, I just want to greet you. I'm going to be late for lesson!"

A minute passed, and she decided to walk herself up the 3 flights of stairs. *tap* She sensed footsteps. Alissa, with an instant reaction, turned her head around to see a tall year 9 boy, who's hair was slicked back, and black. 'Ace, handsome, Parker', she whispered quietly to herself. Without the boy noticing, she tiptoed down the stairs and pretended to walk in his direction to go to lesson. 

"Hey Ace." Alissa spoke, not being heard.

*Ehem* She coughed. *Hey Ace, how come your late this morning?"

One again, he voice was too faint to be heard. And disspaointed, she saw Ace dissapear round the opposite corridor.

"Oh well", she sighed. "There's always next time". Alissa sprinted back up the stairs, as if she was running for her life.

My English lesson took so long it felt like I was being held hostage. But eventually it became break time. Not much for me anymore, 3 years in high school, nothing is gonna change. I walked out of lesson as if I was being chased by a ghost... Like always. Then started to head in the direction of the school feilds. Reassuring Samia, April and Alissa would be there. As normal, we do the awkward 'Hey' 'Hai' thing, and settled it down into a confortable mood. Samia and April would always walk off and start having suspicious conversations. Untill this day no one has managed to discover the mysteries that lie behind those two.

My phone began to vibrate in my inner blazer pocket. Assuming it would be Jackson, I swiped my screen in a leftwars motion accepting the call.

"Hey man, what's up?" I questioned.

"You will never believe it... Okay get ready"

"What, did Violet... I mean umm Ellie ask you out?"

"Well... No, not exactly. I asked her out!"

"Really? God you really were desperate. Haha, what'd she say?"

"She actually... YES ACTUALLY... Said yes! Round of applause please people"

Starting to laugh, I clapped at a rate that sounded like I was at a show, embarrasing myself like always.

"Sweet Bro, have fun with your relationship." I thought to myself, 'why is everyone so in need of being in a relationship, I NEED to find a girlfriend."

"Alright I gotta go, bae needs me." Jackson smiled, saying his goodbyes and shortly hanging up.

"AWW HELL NAWW HE HANG UP BEFORE ME." I yelled across the field. Being noticed by April, she walked over giggling.

"Hi, I kinda heard all that you know"

"You did? Oh, must have been embarrasing."

"Not really, I found it cute," April smiled. "Who were you talking to though?"

"Jackson, yeah hes really weird don't question it," I had a strange urge to ask her 'the question'. But before I let out another word, she spoke, 

"Jackson said he's in a relationship right? Haha, that's good for him. I don't see why boys are so needy in relationships though. If you ask me, they're just teenage boys looking for company, with nothing else to do in life. 

"Yeah totally, I understand ya"...I really didn't agree with her, but I couldn't say anything back, so I just replied "I mean like, I don'nt think it's not coz they have nothing to do in life, it depends on the person."

From then, I was lost. The girl I liked just confessed she wasn't into 'relationships', I was over. Let down, I made up the excuse that I had to be in lesson for something, and went over to canteen to sit with Danny. Ignoring the fact that he hated me, I stood up next to him and Kadie, before immediately saying "Hey guys", Danny looked at me in rage for a second, then burst out in tears of laughter, 

"Martin I am so sorry" he laughed, I got really paranoid, turns out I'm still dating Violet. IT WAS APRIL FOOLS DAY! I'm so gonna get her back!" Come sit over here, we're planning our next hiest on GTA" 

Still kinda annoyed I thought I lost a friend, I shook it off and wen't to sit down to Danny and Kadie. Together we created laughs untill it was time for our next lesson and lunch. The rest of the day went on perfectly fine, in fact, it went along pretty good. But then it was that time again to make my long and tired trip back home. Bidding farewells to everyone, I stepped onto the bus, showed my bus pass to the driver, sat down on a rear cabin seat and then turning on my phone to listen to Taylor Swift.

Too be honest, life kinda just got better by 1%
