"What time do you want me to pick you up?" Naoto asked pulling up to Izana's house. His eyes widened and he looked at Takemichi incredulously, "Jesus, I knew he was rich but this is another level."
"Yeah, I've only been in the foyer and that was impressive enough. And um, I'll text you when I'm done."

Izana was a man who was always sure of himself. He didn't need a reason to do the things he wanted, he just did it without a second thought. So why was he standing at his office window, wondering why he is staring out at his driveway where none other than his newest employee has shown up. He brought his face closer to the window, Hanagaki wasn't the one driving, no it was someone else, another man. A man who he quickly recognised as Tachibana Naoto, the junior detective who suggested Hanagaki, and Hanagaki himself stating in his email that they were friends. So why was Hanagaki now reaching over to kiss Tachibana on the cheek? No- why was he even wondering?
But was that something you do with a friend?
Stop Izana. Hanagaki is your employee, he's someone you're trusting with these children. So why are you looking out of your window like a creep? You don't need to worry about his personal relations.
He glanced down at his watch, it was 6:45 am, Hanagaki was early, just as he had been yesterday. Well that was a plus.
"Why are you watching the sitter?" Izana nearly jumped out of his skin at the sudden little voice, he turned to see Hajime standing there, calculator in hand, a pencil behind his ear.
"Why don't you go down to meet him at the door Hajime? Hmm? Show him the way to my office?"
"Are you going to continue staring at him out the window until he comes inside? Do you want me to invite the man who is dropping him off in too?"
Ah, Hajime, always so blunt. Never afraid to speak exactly what is on his mind. Izana is still debating whether or not he finds it admirable or irritable.
"Ah, I don't think that's necessary."
Hajime nodded and turned on his heel, walking out of the room. Izana resisted the urge to peer out the window again and instead sat himself down at his desk. He needed to look busy for when Hanagaki came in so it wouldn't look like he was doing nothing but waiting for his arrival.
He waits a minutes. And then two. And that turns to five. Surely it doesn't take that long to walk from the front. He gets up and looks out the window, the car is gone so Hanagaki must be inside. What's taking so long? He walks out into the hallway, and hears the children giggling and the muffled sound of someone else talking. He followed the voices and the sight he saw was certainly not one he was expecting. The boys had always had difficulty trusting new people, it had been only recently most of them had warmed up to his siblings.
So seeing Ran sitting in Hanagaki's lap, the man re-doing his braids. Kakucho hanging off his back and Hajime gently brushing a comb through Hanagaki's curls. It was definitely surprising. The other children seemed to either still be asleep or playing in their private playrooms. Hanagaki met eyes with him, an unruly ocean that meets the sky, they widen.
"Oh! Kurokawa-san, I hope I'm not late. Ran-kun just asked if I could braid his hair and Kaku-chan..I think he just missed me a lot and Hajime-kun said my hair was messy so-"
"It's fine, really Hanagaki. It's only 6:50, I'm glad to see them warming up to you."
Izana noticed how the smile on Hanagaki's face became forced and tight, he wondered why. Did he say something wrong? No, why are you worrying about it Izana? He's just your employee, he doesn't have to like what you say.
"Kurokawa-san, you can call me Takemichi, I really do prefer it," Hanagaki said, turning his attention back to putting the hair elastic at the end of Ran's braid.
"I prefer to keep things professional Hanagaki. So why don't we go to my office?"
"Ah, sure."
Ran pouted but got out of Hanagaki's lap anyway, Hajime pulled the comb away and Kakucho very reluctantly got off his back. The children were more than happy to help Hanagaki stand and he offered them genuine smiles and head pats in return. He really was good with kids. Izana turned and Hanagaki followed not to far behind, he literally feel the nervousness radiating off him. Izana didn't mind though, he liked having that feeling of superiority over his employees.
"Take a seat, we are just going to go things like the hours and the kids allergies and schedules." Hanagaki nodded, fidgeting in his chair. Cute-No! Jesus Christ, Izana.
"This job is for the next two months over the holidays. If you meet my expectations during that time, then perhaps you can also do part-time babysitting once school is back on on weekends. The kids are early risers and I plan on leaving for work by 7:30 every morning and I'll be back around 6 pm. Are you able to make their meals during that time?"
"Yes, as long as I know their allergies, likes and dislikes, I can cook pretty much whatever they want. I used to help out in the kitchens a lot at the orphanage."
"The boys do a variety of martial art lessons throughout the week, I will give the schedule to you. You just have to make sure they are dressed and their bags are packed, I have someone arranged to pick them up and drop them home. Hajime likes to go to the library once a week, Kakucho and Rindou love to assist when it comes to cooking or baking, Shion and Mochi often train together in the gym, just check on them every so often. Ran has a habit of getting his hair stuck in things and no, cutting it not an option so be careful. Mucho likes to play chess, so indulge in that every so often, he's constantly looking for a new opposition."
"Okay, and allergies? Any triggers to avoid?"
"Ran is anaemic, so just make sure he's eating enough. Rindou gets really bad hay fever, so I hope you can keep as little dust as possible away from him. Hajime doesn't like anything involving fire, so if you're using the stove or anything, not when he's in the kitchen. Shion is allergic to strawberries, makes his throat close up, and Mochi gets a really bad rash whenever he touches grass. Mucho doesn't have anything and Kakucho-"
"He doesn't like movies or shows with car crashes," Hanagaki finished.
Normally, Izana hates being interrupted. So why isn't he firing Hanagaki on the spot for finishing his sentence for him? Why does he actually think its sweet that Takemichi remembers after all these years what triggers Kakucho? Hanagaki Takemichi confused him. And he wasn't sure whether or not he hated it. He'd have to call Shinichiro.
