At the hospital, Seokhoon, Minhyuk, Jenni, Seokkyung, and Rona's parents were all waiting outside Rona's room as the doctor and nurses check on her condition. While sitting on the chairs outside the room, Yoon Hee buried her face in her husband's chest and cried.
I'm so worried for our daughter, Yoon Chul-ah. I don't want to lose her yet. I still can't lose my baby. Not now. I want to spend more time with my only princess.
Yoon Chul, despite tearing up himself, rubbed Yoon Hee's back to calm her down.
Don't worry, Yoon Hee-yah. Our daughter is strong. I know she'll overcome this. She needs us to be strong for her so let's be optimistic.
Sitting across from the weeping parents, Seokkyung felt guilty. She felt like it was her fault that Rona fainted and is unwell. If it wasn't for her plan, Rona wouldn't be in this hospital in the first place. While looking down at her shoes, she silently teared up while blaming herself for what just happened to Rona.
Breaking the silence lingering in the atmosphere, Seokkyung looked up at Yoon Hee and Yoon Chul and began to speak.
Ahjumma....... Ahjussi.......
Both Yoon Hee and Yoon Chul looked at Seokkyung.
What is it, Seokkyung-ah?
Yoon Hee asked.
Biting her lip, she started to cry and bowed her head down to Rona's parents.
I'm so sorry. I should've not brought Rona with me. If it wasn't for me, all of this wouldn't happen to Rona. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me.
Shaking her head, Yoon Hee went towards Seokkyung and took her hands to comfort her.
No, Seokkyung-ah. It's not your fault. Don't blame yourself. No one wanted this to happen. Besides, we should thank you for making Rona smile a lot more ever since we arrived back here in South Korea. Thank you for always visiting her and checking up on her.
But before Seokkyung could even reply, the sound of the hospital room opening caught their attention. Glancing at the doctor who just came out of the room, Yoon Hee dashed towards the doctor and asked her frantically.
Doctor, how is my daughter? Why did she faint? Is she alright?
The doctor flashed a sad smile to the worried Yoon Hee and answered.
She's fine as of the moment. She fainted because of too much stress and fatigue. With her body condition, it would be hard for her to handle tough situations like this. Her condition is starting to get worse as time goes by so I think it's better if you take care of her and show her your love and support until her very last day. I know that it is painful for all of you but as of now, there's nothing we can do in order to prevent or even delay her departure. For now, all we can do is to make the best out of the days she has left to live.
The doctor lets out a sigh and continued.
She's still unconscious as of the moment but she will be awake soon so there's nothing for you to worry about right now. I'll go ahead. Excuse me.
I know that it is painful for all of you but as of now, there's nothing we can do in order to prevent or even delay her departure. For now, all we can do is to make the best out of the days she has left to live.
The doctor's words kept on repeating inside his mind and Seokhoon couldn't help but bury his head on his face and cry.
Please don't take my Rona away from me yet. Please, give me more time to be with her until the very end. I don't want to let her go yet. Please give me the chance to build happy memories with her.
