"That's enough," A man ordered with his menacing yellow eyes illuminating the dim space.
His brown hair complemented his disgusting expression on an unfairly handsome face.
He wiped the blood off of his cheek and spit.
The person beating a poor boy on the ground had stopped and saluted.
"Yes sir."
The person held a whip and wore full metal armor.
On the left side of his chest piece was an emblem of a mountain and waterfall.
Just from his appearance one could tell he was a soldier.
The guard stood straight and bowed before leaving the room.
"I hope you've learned your lesson ,"
The brown-haired man said in revolting tone followed by a smirk.
The man turned around and walked towards the door.
"Dear brother."
The man added condescendingly without looking back.
Bang!
He exited as he slammed the door close.
Meanwhile, on the floor, laid a battered blonde-haired boy-me.
'...Scum.'
I could only curse inwardly.
My name is Oliver Rein. Now known as Liam.
I was once a 20 years old male that died an embarrassing death.
But now I'm a 10 year old waste.
Whilst reading a novel recommended by a friend, I slipped from my bunk bed and died.
The height wasn't that tall but I had a nasty fall.
In an attempt to save myself, I flailed mid-air only to land on my neck, breaking it.
I was sure that I had my feet rooted in a way that locked me in place. And I wasn't even that near the edge.
The last thing I could remember was being rushed to get the hospital as I blacked out in a stretcher.
I heard crying I assumed was from my family. It was unintelligible, but I recognized their heart-breaking voices.
My body was paralyzed but I was conscious.
It was terrifying.
I stayed in the darkness for who knows how long, until I felt my limbs.
I woke up in another world.
It felt awfully familiar but I didn't pay no heed to it.
I rejoiced.
But little did I know I was reincarnated to the novel I was reading that night as the antagonist.
"Manipulator, Manipulated"
A story where the antagonist manipulates the main character.
An absolutely disgusting villain.
One that had a fate worse than death because of it.
Starting that day, I lived as Liam Pyo Marquette.
'He was abused from an early age to avoid a strife for the throne.'
Was the short description the novel gave before it began.
I was given a second chance, but beaten for mistakes and reasons not meant for me.
I was now experiencing the reason why Liam became the way he is.
My blood boiled.
What did I do to deserve this? What did Liam do to deserve this?
Yes, he did almost end the world, but right now, I was reliving what had brought him to that point;
The time when he was just a helpless child!
I shared plenty of hurt back when I was still Oliver, but it pales in comparison to this.
Why?!
A little kid?!
He could barely speak because of you bastards!
But I'd be lying if that was the only reason.
I cried myself to sleep every night from the pain.
From my previous easy going life to a literal living hell.
I'm angry at them for dragging me in!
Yes, I'm sympathetic about Liam. But I could care less, he has brought upon his own death.
An idiotic farce.
But why?!
"WHY ME?!"
"WHY WOULD YOU PUT ME IN PAIN?!"
I DIDN'T DESERVE THIS!
I JUST WANTED TO LIVE PEACEFULLY!
"WHY?!"
Why? Why would you put me in his place?
"Heh," I laughed dejectedly.
I guess this is what he felt huh?
It wasn't his fault to be born an illegitimate child.
Yet he was beaten.
He even cursed his mom for giving birth to him.
"Haha, earlier I was talking sh*t about him and now I'm feeling bad again."
All he could do was keep it all in.
Like me.
I am now him.
I tried to kill myself multiple times but shuddered as I remembered the dark abyss I resided.
That's when I realized...
Just how strong of a person Liam is.
Despite how he turned out, he got through it.
Despite how rough it became, he got through it.
Despite everyone wanting him to die, isolating him, destroying him from the inside out.
He got through it.
I started admiring him.
Before I just thought of him as a spoiled brat, a greedy bastard, and a cruel human being.
Even the story itself told it like that.
But he didn't start out as one.
They gave it to him-they turned him.
People aren't born evil, they're made.
I understood that line better than ever before.
Liam just wanted love.
He just wanted to live peacefully. Just like me.
But this cursed world brought him pain.
It brought him suffering.
So what's wrong on getting revenge?
Now I now why he willingly worked with a demon.
With no one behind his back, he hugged a devil.
No matter how evil it is, it would always stay beside him.
I may not like the choices he made.
The choice that led million of people to their deaths.
But it's a pretty damn convincing scheme.
Because, it wasn't him that thought of it.
It was the abuse that gave him a reason to kill.
