Monster

Lee Kyung had just returned to college from his two year mandatory military training. he was student of business management. Coming back after this long makes him encounter with many new faces. In among all these faces, there was a boy called jungwoo, not so normal or to say abnormal. Because he had covered his mouth with a bandage all the time and his too much big eyes can get focus on anyone, anytime. One day, the professor assigned Lee Kyung with collecting homework from the whole class and submitting it to him.  As he takes jungwoo assignments, he feels something squishing on his hand. When he turned around, he saw a disgusting centipede crawling on his hand. Out of despite, he jerked off it and brutally crushed it beneath his boots. When Lee Kyung makes eye contact with jungwoo, he gives lee kyung a glare filled with hatred and exits the class by pushing him.

As usual, lee kyung was on a walk with his dog 'Yeontan'. As they approached the river, his dog growled and dashed behind the bushes. He was waiting for him when he heard the voice of a cat. He takes a glance around and moves in the direction of sound. The cat's call leads him into the darkness, where he notices a person's back. A body with deformed back belongs to a familiar face and The mouth on jungwoo face was not of human but instead there was a hole- looking like a insect's mouth, covered in blood, sucking and munching on half-ate dead cat's tissues. Disgusted by the scene, Lee kyung begins vomiting, attracting the jungwoo's attention.  Human- monster turns back but before he can see lee kyung, he instantly hides behind a wooden log. He was covering his mouth not to make any voice but then his dog 'yeontan' came to him and began barking. He attempts to shoo the dog away while hearing the sound of grass crunching beneath the monster approaching footsteps. His heart was racing so fast that it may stop at any time. and so Lee kyung wakes up on his bed. His mother knocks on his door to call him for breakfast. he had the vivid memories of last night but he couldn't recall exactly what happened with him. He goes to bathroom and starts brushing off his teeth when suddenly he feels an urge to pluck out his molar tooth. His saliva got mixed in blood and dripping on the floor tiles. He had most of his teeth in the sink. And when he looks at himself in mirror, he gets scared at his own horrid state. In a hurry, he wraps a bandage across his mouth.

After coming to school, lee Kyung could not find jungwoo anywhere. He tries to ask other students about him but no one knows about his whereabouts. So many days had passed since jungwoo had gone missing. Lee kyung was on vacations and his family were visiting his grandparent's home. But he didn't go. Yeotan's behaviour radically changed after that nighttime stroll; he began barking whenever he would see lee kyung. That noon, lee kyung was sleeping in his room but suddenly he wakes up due to his crave for meat. He went into the kitchen to look for meat, but he could not found anything. He had turned into a fanatic, and Yeontan was constantly barking at him, which was bothering him. and then lee kyung comes close to the dog and pats on his fur. He then takes off his bandage. His mouth has mutated into a monster's mouth up to this point. Lee kyung chewed off a large part of Yeontan's neck with his sharp mandibles moving up and down, and he continues to devour him. When there was nothing much left to eat, he comes back to his senses. His hands soaked in blood gives him realization of what he did.

"Many workers have claimed to seen multiple glimpses of an unknown creature looking like a human-size centipede at night in garbage dump yard, feeding on garbage. and They also discovered butchered dead-bodies of  dogs, cats or even birds."  Shin Haeri read these lines from a news article on her laptop.
