The path away from the village and toward the shore was smooth at first, but soon became rocky. Lilith was starting to regret wearing shorts, given how overgrown everything outside the village was.

Carlos was humming the dwarf song under his breath, making Evie shudder.

"What do you have against dwar-Oh, right," Carlos frowned as he remembered what the dwarves did to the Evil Queen. "Sorry."

"It's okay," Evie shrugged slightly. She glanced at Carlos, taking the chance for a change in subject. "So that was your mom, huh?"

"Yup, the one and only Cruella De Vil," Carlos nodded as Lilith pointed out some poison Ivy to the rest so they could avoid it. "Talk about a one way ticket to crazy town, am I right?"

Evie shook her head, stating that Cruella doesn't seem so bad. "At least she doesn't do this thing that my mom does, where she pretends to be a Magic Mirror telling me I'm far from the fairest of the land."

The other four came to a sudden pause, turning to stare at the blue haired princess. "But... you're gorgeous," Lilith pointed out with a frown.

Jay nodded, pointing at Lilith as if to agree with her. "I mean, you're not my type, sweetheart, but you've got to know you're good-looking."

"You really think so?" Evie asked.

"He has eyes, doesn't he?" Lilith scoffed slightly, turning to them with a playful smirk. "Sweetheart, make the blue brighter or switch it with pink and you'd fit right in over there," She vaguely gestured to the shoreline.

On the other side of those waters was Auradon, the land of all good guys, princes and princesses. There was a reason the Evil Queen was the fairest of them all before Snow White, and Evie definetely had her mother's beauty.

"Wow," Jay frowned. "That's literally the nicest thing I've ever heard you say to someone else."

Lilith got uncomfortable under the thief's strange look, turning to glare at him. "Instead of staring, you could be useful and scout ahead. You're the fastest, aren't you?"

Jay rolled his eyes, mockingly saluting before jogging ahead.

Lilith sighed, thinking the talking was done but Evie had simply taken Jay's place next to Lilith instead. "Hey, you have a sister right? What's that like?"

She raised one eyebrow at the princess before shrugging nonchalantly. "Normal, I guess? I mean, we share a room. I take care of her and run errands for mother so she can have fun."

She noticed Evie's brows furrowing and sighed loudly. "Listen, I do it cause Ginny should get to have decent meals. Don't for a second think that makes me kind, if her grades suffer or she doesn't do her chores I dangle her out on the balcony like dirty laundry," She scoffed.

"I can confirm that, I've seen it multiple times," Carlos chimed in, much to Lilith's glee. She couldn't seem weak after all.

The gray fog surrounding the edge of the shore loomed closer. Soon they would have to walk through the mist and enter the Nowhere. The dark haired girl couldn't deny the mix of nerves and excitement she felt around her. This was new after all! No one had dared set foot in their before, they'd be the first.

And to return with something as powerful as Maleficent's Scepter. It'd be a victory to remember. Maybe even her mother would tell her she did a good job-Not that that mattered, or atleast that's what Lilith tried to tell herself.

Carlos frowned when they heard a sharp whistle, coming from ahead.

Jay came jogging towards them when Mal whistled back, dissapearing behind a rock. "I saw something in the shadows, hide!" He hissed at them.
