"Oi! Don't you have some sort of needle stuff to do?" Silver Stark was shaking her head, as her half brother Jon Snow walked over to her in the training yard. He was followed by her twin brother Robb Stark, and their childhood friend Theon Greyjoy.
"Does it matter? Who here is going to make me go to this "needle stuff" that is of which you speak?" Silver asked with a grin on her face, as she looked at the sword in her hand with a shrug.
"Not me, that is for certain. I know better than that by now." Robb stated as he raised his hands up in surrender and they all looked at him, and Silver began to laugh at his quick surrender.
"Good. I daresay that you two have already learned the lessons as well as Robb has." Silver's words were more like a statement than a question and she briefly spun her sword around in her hand, and she turned back to face one of the many training dummies.
Silver's grin moved wider as she heard the familiar sound of ringing metal, as swords were removed from the scabbards, as she looked over her shoulder.
The four young people started their usual sparring sessions and they were watched by the rest of the trainers as well as the trainees, the new soldiers in the training yard.
Silver had managed to get her hands on another sword and she was rather effectively holding her own with two blades, as the boys were being forced to chase her around.
Jon was the first one to go down without a weapon in his hand and after that, it was Silver against Robb and Theon, who were both holding a single sword.
Jon moved out of the way to watch as the combat got more fierce between a girl and the two boys, each trying to beat the other.
Eventually, the three got tired so they stopped and Silver chuckled. "Again, a successful stalemate." She stated and a moment later, all of them were once again laughing. Silver placed her sword back in its scabbard on her waist as she jogged away and the boys all separated.
Silver went to the archery targets after the sparring and despite her clear objections to it, everyone bowed to her as they went along.
"Seven hells. I thought that you lot would have stopped doing that by now or at least, that you would have tried to stop doing it by now." She said with a roll of her eyes, and instead of staying at the archery range like she had originally planned to, she walked off and into the familiar stone castle of Winterfell.
Silver placed her hand against one of the stone walls and she smiled as she felt the warmth, coming from the hot springs that had always warmed their mighty northern castle from below.
Silver felt someone watching her and she turned around in place and drops her hand off of the wall to rest on her sword hilt. But only to see her father's ward Theon Greyjoy standing there in silence and she rolled her eyes. "Was the watching necessary? It makes you look like a right prick, Theon." Silver stated and Theon shrugged at her.
"We are going hunting. Robb, Jon, Jory, a few others. You coming?" He asked and Silver spun her bow swiftly around in her hand, and she shrugged at him.
"Might as well. Who else will bring home the biggest buck of the summer final season?" She asked rhetorically as Theon scoffed, but they were both laughing as they both made their way to the stables.
Only to discover that the horses were all already saddled and in response to the sight, Silver raised her eyebrows in question to Theon, who shrugged his shoulders slightly.
Silver slung her longbow across her back, as she swung up into the saddle and Lord Eddard Stark her father was walking into the stables and he mounted his own charger.
"Whatever requires our horses to be saddled with no notice to their riders, Father?" She asked and her charger, a proper warhorse charger whickered a bit.
"A deserter from the Night's Watch... a crow, has been found near our borders. You know that is one of my duties, as Warden of the North." Lord Stark stated and Silver's face portrayed no hint of emotions, as her charger whickered again. "We ride. Now." He said as they trotted out of Winterfell's stables and they met up with Robb, Bran and Jon on their horses and for Bran, on his pony already.
"Don't look away from it and keep your pony in hand." Silver advised her little brother Bran quietly, as she silently swung down from her horse, as she stood between Theon and Robb with her charger's reins held in her hand in silence.
"In the name of Robert of the House Baratheon, the First of his Name, an King of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, by the word of Eddard of the House Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, I do sentence you to die." Silver heard her father's words that she had heard a dozen times before and she watched as the greatsword was lifted above his head.
The sword came down and it took only a single stroke of the greatsword Ice of Winterfell, and the head rolled away to hit Theon's foot. He casually kicked it away and Silver shook her head silently, maybe even a bit sadly at him and his actions, as she once again swung up into the saddle and her charger rode off as she heard him chuckling behind her.
