It had been a long time since the Hand of the King had visited the shop but one night, in the darkness after they had gone to sleep and Alysha was able to hear Gendry's familiar snoring from his bunk in the side of the shop, she was softly shaken awake by their Master.
"Get up Alysha. Now." He ordered harshly and Alysha's eyes were bleary but she was awake, as she managed to move her legs out of her stiff bunk, as she was moving to heed his orders as fast as she could without falling over and waking up poor Gendry. "Hurry up now, child." He murmured as she nodded as she wiped the remaining sleep out of her eyes and she threw on her new clothes and he shoved a bit of food in a bag, then threw it swiftly into her arms along with a flask of water.
Alysha was directed out of the shop and into the street, as her master was following her out and she nearly ran right into the horses in the street, only for her to be yanked out of their paths by her Master.
"Be careful, my child. You will soon be dead or dying, if... you keep goin' like that. Recklessly, into the streets like that." Her master stated, and she ducked her head slightly, as she walks up to one of the riders, who was a servant of the King.
"This is the girl? The girl who has been banging on an anvil since she was young?" With a start, Alysha knew who it was.
This was Renly Baratheon, the youngest brother of the good King Robert Baratheon. He resembled his brother quite clearly, as she looked up at him. "Yes, this is. Alysha. She is a low-born girl, yet with a fierce spark and a fighting spirit like no other girl I have seen yet. Especially not on the street of steel." He stated and Renly nodded as he stuck out his hand to Alysha, who hesitated as she backed up a few steps, not too eager to leave the only home that she had known for years on end.
"Why am I to leave?" Alysha asked sharply as she threw the bundle over her shoulder and Renly chuckled at her words.
"Your Master has sold you. So that you may be a lady of the court and more importantly, so that you may be a servant to the Hand of the King himself." Renly stated as Alysha was looking at her Master, who was gifted with a very small bag of gold dragons as a payment.
"You sold me off, so that I may be a lady of the court? Me? Me, Alysha, the clear and clumsy girl who broke your wrist and such." Alysha's incredulous tone was clear and her Master shook her head.
"You will go with them to serve the Hand. Now." Alysha didn't see another choice, so she accepted the hand that was offered to her and she was helped onto the horse, as they rode off toward the Red Keep with Renly doing his constant talking, as Alysha dropped her head as she was determined to ride in total silence.
Alysha was assigned to be one of the servants designated to help the Hand's daughters and when they all arrived from up in the North weeks later from Winterfell, she was there to wait on them and to her pleasant surprise, the younger of the two "Arya" the Septa named her, was much more of a wild child than the elder one. Therefore, being more like Alysha herself to the former smith's apprentice's pleasant surprise.
"You. Yes, you, young one." Alysha was stunned when Lord Eddard Stark called her over and she walked over to him.
"Yes milord?" She asked and he looked at her.
"Have you any interest in helping my daughter with her studies?" He questioned and she looked at him.
"Please pardon me, milord, but what studies?" Alysha asked and he smiled a bit, as Alysha followed him out of the room and they watched as Arya learned how to fight with a sword, as Alysha chuckled. "I would be glad to, Lord Hand." She murmured and he nodded, as Alysha walked down the steps and to Arya's surprise and shock, when Syrio Forel threw the wooden sword toward her, Alysha caught it in her hand swiftly and he chuckles.
"Strong child." He stated and Alysha nodded slightly, as she spun the sword in her hand briefly to get used to the weight. "And now, we begin the dance." He said as they were trying to wound or "kill" on him with their weapons, only to discover that he was much faster than they had ever expected him to be.
