Alysha was lying on the bench that she often slept on in the smithy, and she sighed quietly. "Gendry, you awake?" She asked and she heard someone shuffling around the shop.

"I'm awake now." Came the grumpy and sleepy voice, as Alysha sighed at his tone. "Is that you moving around, like a bloody thief?" Gendry asked.

"No, I thought that was you." Alysha admitted and as soon as she admitted it, she jumped up and grabbed one of her nearby weapons, which happened to be a hammer.

She grabbed it off of the nearest smithing table and she crept forward and she swung it at the nearest thing that moved and to her horror, a shout of pain that sounded familiar was what happened. Alysha dropped the hammer and Gendry lit a lamp, as she clamped her hand over her mouth to see that their Master was on the ground with a broken wrist.

"Well, at least nobody will ever be able to say that they have not had a bad day for their wrist 'round here, with Alysha around." He mumbled as Alysha put the hammer down and she reached out a hand as he reached up and accepted the hand. "Get me a set of bandages, girl, quickly now." Alysha ran to get them.

After the Master had gone back to sleep, Alysha and Gendry were still awake and Alysha couldn't seem to stop looking at the hammer that she had broken his wrist with. "If I hadn't jumped to conclusions about all of the possible dangers..." Alysha did not really know where she was goin' with it, and Gendry sighed and he sat down next to her.

"If it wasn't you, it would have been me." Gendry pointed out as he looked over at her, as he followed her gaze to the hammer. Gendry, he grabbed the hammer and when he hid it away, Alysha seemed to relax a bit. "Come here." He said and she leaned into the offered embrace, as he wrapped his arms around her.

"I broke his wrist." Alysha muttered and Gendry chuckled quietly, as he looked at the embers that were still cooling in the bottom of the firepit. "Do you think he'll sell me for it?" She asked and Gendry scoffed, as he shook his head at her.

"You are far too valuable for that. Not many women or girls could say that they have been trained as blacksmiths. Your ability to read would also come in handy, I would imagine for other positions as well." Gendry pointed out and Alysha shrugged. "Oh come on, give yourself some of the credit. You can count past twelve, you can read, you can smith and you can put your hands straight into hot-" Alysha's hand clamped over Gendry's mouth to stifle his words and Gendry muttered in complaint, though it came out muffled.

"No one can know about that. You know that Gendry, it is far, far too dangerous saying anything even that has anything to do with... that in any case. Just don't say it, there are too many eyes out here." Alysha murmured and he nodded, as she removed her hand and went back to the hug in a quiet and comfortable silence.

"You have a weird mark on your shoulder. How am I just noticing this now?" Gendry asked and Alysha raised her eyebrows at him. "It looked like it was burned into your skin." He said and he handed a sword to Alysha, who used the reflection to look at the mark that he was referring to and she shook her head.

"I was found outside of a burning orphanage, according to the person who found me and raised me until I was 6. The scar must have grown when I did." Alysha murmured and she put the sword away, as she rolled her shoulders briefly and she sat down next to the fire that licked up at the roof and sent up sparks that luckily didn't catch on the roof.

"You're lying." Gendry stated casually and Alysha scoffed, but she leaned back against the wall and he moved off of the bench to sit next to her. "I know you well enough by now, to know that Ali." He pointed out and Alysha sighed.

"Fine, I wasn't found outside of a burning orphanage. It is a birthmark apparently, all right. My past is too dangerous to share with anyone Gen, I don't even remember most of it." She said quietly as she stared into the fire.

"But you do remember your name don't you? The name that sometimes you wake up crying out for, who was it?" Gendry asked and she looked over at him.

"Wait... I talk in my sleep?" Alysha asked softly and he nodded at her as Alysha leaned back against the wall in a quiet contemplation.

Gendry moved his arm around her shoulders and Alysha moved closer in order to accept the one-armed hug, as she was shaking slightly. "Are you cold or something?" He asked quietly and she shook her head, as she leaned her head onto his shoulder.

"I'm never cold, not anymore. I live and work in a smith, remember?" She didn't really need to ask, but he had a grin on his face after she had made it sound like an annoyed question and he was laughing lightly. "What's funny about that?" Alysha asked.

"Just you in general." Gendry said with a shrug, as she was falling asleep and he smiles a little. "We have a busy day tomorrow. Get some rest." He said and she was already asleep, and he was chuckling quietly when he realized that she was asleep and wasn't letting go of his arm. "Right then." He murmured and settled down to sleep.
