When there was no answer the first time, Winter barked in time with her knocking. "Come in." Silver sighed a bit at the familiar voice and she opens the door and Winter followed her into the room, which seemed to make her Lord Father laugh at the sight of their loyal and already strong bond. "Have you decided on a name for her, yet, daughter?" He asked and she nodded slightly.
"Winter." Silver murmured and she scratched her pup behind the ears, as the wolf barked and she laughed a bit at the sound. "I heard that you wished to see me, Father?" She asked and he nodded slightly.
"That I did. We need to talk about the arrival of King Robert and half of his court." He said and Silver was narrowing her eyes in confusion.
"What need is there to talk for it, about Father?" She asked and he was shaking his head quickly.
"I believe that King Robert will propose a marriage union between you and Joffrey." He said and Silver's eyes widened, as she shook her head at the prospect and she felt her red-hot anger rising again.
"He is a bloody prick! I will not be marrying that ass!" She shouted and he shook his head at her.
"Then would you rather marry his brother Tommen? You are a Stark of Winterfell, nearly a woman grown. You have bled and you shall be married. It is just the way, that these things work." Ned Stark stated and her eyes were turning hollow, as she realized that he was serious.
"Am I to live in King's Landing? A wolf among the lions?" Silver asked with a tone of voice that suggested she already knew the answer to her own question.
"You will marry Joffrey and you will live in King's Landing with him and his family, there is no way around this. You will be as you choose to put it "a wolf among the lions" however, it is for our family's sake that you must do this-"
"Oh, so now we marry for power Father?" Silver asked sharply and her father looked upset at the way this conversation was going and Winter growled at Ned, who looked shocked to hear such angry sounds from a pup. "No, I won't. That isn't me. I am a wolf of the North, I do not belong in the South." Silver snapped and without waiting for him to give his permission, she kicked open the heavy door.
Winter raced out of the room and Silver followed her quickly, and as she ran down the hallways of the only home she had ever known, she heard her father shouting after her and for once, for the first time in her life, she chose to ignore it.
Silver ended up running straight into Theon and Robb, who both looked shocked at the upset and hollow look on her face. "Silver?..." Robb asked but before he finished the question, Silver shoved past him and stormed into her room. The door slammed behind her and Winter started to scratch at the door, whimpering at being locked out.
Silver opened the door and Winter managed to skid into the room and unfortunately for Silver's pride, Robb was able to get into the room before she slammed the door again. "Leave." Silver said coldly and he shook his head, as he shut the door.
"What is wrong with you? I haven't seen you this upset in a long bloody time. What in seven hells, did Father say to you in order to make you this upset?" Robb asked and Silver punched the wall in a fury, as she felt her knuckles crack and she saw blood between them from hitting the stone wall so hard.
"He wants to marry me to the Prince." Silver admitted and Robb looked at her for a span of a few seconds, before he busted out laughing and Silver sighed, crossing her arms over her chest as she waited for her twin to stop laughing his face off. "You finished?" Silver asked and Robb was finally able to stop laughing, coughing a few final ones out, before he stopped and sighed.
"Wait... our father wants to marry you off to a princeling in the South, that is a Lion? Our father wants you to bed a Lion?!" Robb snapped, suddenly outraged once he knew what it meant and Silver nodded slightly, as she found that as usual, her own emotions were reflected in her twins' eyes and that was gratifying for her. "He can't do that. You belong up here, with us. Here at home in Winterfell." Robb said and his tone was cracking into desperation, as Silver sighed.
"I told him that I wouldn't, but there is not much that I can do in protest to it anymore." She murmured and looked at the Protector in its scabbard on her waist and she sighed quietly, as she unbuckled her sword belt and held it out to Robb.
"What? Why are you giving this to me?" Robb asked and Silver shrugged a little bit, as she sighed. "Silver, explain this." He said and it almost sounded like an order, as Silver chuckled at the tone of his voice.
"That is why. If I'm to be married off, then there is a very good chance that the husband won't approve of me having a blade in my luggage. Except if our lord Father comes to his senses and he marries me into a Northern family, but judging by his track record of changing his mind, it will not be happening any time soon." Silver murmured and Robb sighed as he took the sword from her. "You might have to get Mikken to do some adjustments on it, the sword was made to be wielded by a woman or a girl, if the need ever required it." She said quietly and Robb handed it back to her.
"I can't take this. At least not until we know for sure, that you are leaving. The King, his family and his court haven't even arrived yet. I can't take this sword from you, sister, I can't." Robb said and he moved his arms around Silver, who sighed and for the first time in a long time, they were both crying silently.
