I shoved the paper back into my pocket and whipped around to the sight of a hassled looking Mrs. Kimbley.

"Did you feel that, that must have been quite a tremor!" She squealed in a mixture of delight and shock.

"Mrs. Kimbley are you okay?" I asked concerned.

"Yes, but look at this mess, would it be alright if you stayed a while longer to clean up?" She asked in the kind sweet tone that you just can not refuse to.

She left and I was left crouching on the floor staring at the destruction. West Virginia is not known for any sort of Earthquakes, the eastern faults can't even compare to the ones in California. This led to my next question, what the heck is this message for? I reread it a few times, but nothing clicked. I concluded I would read it later and began to reorganize books.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My eyes fixated on every little detail of the message the swerve of each letter, and the curl at the end of every "f".
The fox has leaped and the dog has slept
This was an obvious link to the sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." Which is an English pangram, meaning that the sentence contains all of the letters in the alphabet. It is normally used to display fonts due to its incredible shortness, but what was with the numbers? Then the pieces of my mind snapped together and I began counting out. I once had a puzzle book that included a puzzle in which each number corresponds with a letter. For example 1 would be "A" and 2 would be "B". I counted them out and wrote each one down.
THE TAINTED STREAM
I skipped a breath.
How could anyone possibly know that!
