Esdeaths Lover

Chapter one

I had joined Night raid a year ago. My brother had been slaughtered by the guards that were meant to keep us safe in the Capital but we were wrong i had barely escaped with my life. Leone had found me in an alleyway by the market and had decided to take me with her, i was grateful.
My first night here was a mix of emotions i'd met each of the members of the infamous night raid and upon seeing them up close i couldn't fathom what the fuss was about, were they seriously killers? I hadn't had a chance to see any of them in action yet and i was simply there newest member i didn't know how to fight and i sure as hell couldn't run for more then ten seconds i would be useless to them. However soon i had been given my own imperial arms i can manipulate the Earth, moving terrain for myself and my trump card is that i can make any person that i wants movements to suddenly become slower.

Me and sheele had been discussing the latest raid that had gone ahead, a leading family that caused the poverty in the Capital had been killed, i had taken out all the imperial guards in the area and i had overheard something about the return of an Ice Queen. The name gave me shivers i have heard rumours of the strongest in the empire wielding powers of ice, could there be a connection?
"Najenda? why are you?" it was rare that boss visited us these days she was too busy gathering rebels in the East to discuss future plans with us anymore but that was ok we just carried on as usual.
"I've come here to inform you all that Esdeath or as some of you will know her as the Ice Queen has returned to the Capital!"excitement and fear swept through the room the thought of possible being able to go against someone such as her was almost too thrilling. At this point our minds began to wonder if there was a chance that one of us could defeat her and take the glory but if the rumours are true she could easily kill us within an instant, how cold blooded could one person be i know for sure we should have her fighting on our side that way we'd be unstoppable in defeating the child emperor. My eyes met with sheele as we both gave each other a hopeful glance, i liked sheele and we had become best friends within a month, most of the time we worked together in defeating the imperial guards.
"Do you think we will meet Esdeath?" sheele had an almost excited look on her face which was surprising for her as she only had two faced that regulated a smile and a straight face, it was nice like this, i loved when days where like this.

~time skip~

I was heading out for my first mission of the new month with Sheele and i grabbed my glove that contained my imperial arms when a voice filled with happiness started to echo down the corridor, i turned to see Leone. "Leone why haven't you headed out yet?" i wasn't in the mood for Leone and she really needed to get going or she could mess up the whole mission, today we were aiming to kill the prime minister his acts were inexcusable, callous at that. My emotions were all over the place this could quite possibly be the biggest mission of the Night Raid and i didn't want to be the one to screw it up.
