Chapter sixteen

i'm deciding whether or not to have a rushed ending to this story or let the story progress past twenty chapters like i initially was going to let it however i have a few ideas and i want to end this at those ideas because i think it will be dramatic, sad and worthwhile but i'm not sure yet so i'll keep writing until i've decided on what i'm going to do

A duel was exactly the right thing that could save my life and possibly countless others. I haven't decided yet the rules of this duel but surely i could make them stack up in my favour . I had to win at all costs. My life was literally hanging in the balance and for once i wasn't going to give up this easily. I was out of my mind to ever think that i could be the one to change Esdeath. She was like scrunching up paper and then straightening it out without any fault, she was impossible. A height that could never be reached but a height that needed to be taken down. Countless people had attempted to take her life and at this point she was too comfortable so if i went with a simple approach this could be it.

Barging back into our room she looked at me,"you're still here?" it was a halfhearted question. She smirked at me.
"it's impossible for me to escape however i do have a proposal for you" i could almost see her ears prick up and her face lit up.
"what do you have in mind?" her voice was seductive and she played with her long blue hair.
"A duel, i want to gamble with you one last time" i could see her smile fall and her once happy face changed to one of a child terrified of thunder and lightning.
"No! i do not wish to partake" she hadn't even heard the rules of the duel just yet. I prepared my speech.
"well at least hear me out. I want to gamble my life for my freedom, i propose that we fight until one of us can no longer fight and whatever your price is i will pay however for me my price is my freedom and you will submit to the members of night raid and become one of us, helping us take down the empire. Does that sound fair to you?" Was she curious now?
"My price would be that you died at my hands, are you really prepared to lose your life for even a slice of freedom?" i was, i was more then happy to sacrifice possibly lose everything to gain everything i had back. If this was the price i'd have to pay just to get back then this is what i would have to do.

"For now i want to sleep, i'll give you my answer tomorrow" she wrapped her legs around me entombing me between her and the bed. It was hard to breathe as my heart started to race. If i could just get out of here and get back to Night raid i would get everyone to fight against Esdeath. To put it simply taming this beast was more then just a one person job.
