Saturday came sooner than I would of liked. I had decided not to think about it too much as every time I would, I would get flustered and panicked and that wasn't helping anyone.

We had arranged to meet at 2pm and by the time I had a shower and ate, it was already midday. I wore a pair of oversized mom jeans, a grey hoodie and a black leather coat. Although it was spring, the weather was still thriving like it was January.

As I was running behind schedule, I only had time to thinly coat my eyelashes in mascara and cover the spots, which were probably caused from the stress of today, with some concealer.

I rushed out the house and started waking to the town centre which was only 15 minutes from where I lived.

I finally arrived and glanced at my watch in relief.

1:55pm

A few moments went by..

2:00pm

I stood waiting..

2:10pm

I checked the message where we had confirmed the date and time, it definitely said 2pm...

2:20pm

I messaged you asking if you still wanted to meet today..

2:30pm

I realised that you had clearly changed your mind and weren't going to turn-

"Shit Tay, I am so so sorry," I heard a voice mutter behind me.

I quickly turned around and their you were. Your dark skin glowing in the sun and your curly hair laying messily on your face. Although you were quite obviously panicked, you still looked better than I had remembered. I couldn't help but look at you in complete awe.

"Err hi," I replied just trying to get some words out of my mouth.

"I had to help out with something then the traffic was-

"Don't worry about it," I cut you off.

You looked relieved but also a little disappointed in yourself. I started walking towards the mall.

"Are you coming or what?" I said confidently.

A reassuring smirk appeared on your face as you caught up to me. We fell into a comfortable silence until you said.

"So is this where you take all your dates?".

I couldn't tell if you were genuinely interested in my love life or if you just wanted to make conversation.

"Yeah pretty much, same time, same day," I replied.

He chuckled at my pathetic attempt of making a joke.

2 hours later...
My legs were starting to ache but I didn't care at that moment. We talked for the whole walk. Asking about family, friends, hobbies, aspirations...
It was getting slightly darker and the air was turning colder.

"It's getting cold, I know somewhere we can go," You suggested. "I understand if you would be uncomfortable to get in my car as we've only met twice but I have something cool planned so it's up to you,".

Part of my brain was screaming "GOOOO" whereas the other side was saying "this guy is definitely a serial killer". I thought I had known you long enough to be sure about my decision but you've always got to be extra safe and that is why I said...

"Sure, how are we getting their?".

"My car is parked down that road," you pointed "it may take a while to get there but I promise it worth it,".

We got into your cosy convertible and listened to some music to make up for the time.

"She knows what I think about and what I think about," you sing,"one love, two mouths, one love, one house".

I was once again left in awe of your confidence and surprisingly amazing voice. Was there anything you couldn't do?"

After 45 minutes we finally arrived and you navigated me to a lake. It was beautiful. Trees surrounded the protected area and the water was vibrantly blue. It was around 6:30pm so the sun would be setting soon.

"When I was younger, I often got bullied for the way I looked," you looked up at me,"I would promise myself I wouldn't let their words hurt me but when it became too much, I would come here,".

I listened as you told me about your hard time in the start high school. I hurt me to see you so vulnerable. I weaved my arm through yours and gripped on to your bicep with my head on your shoulder.

"Enough of this depressing shit, stand up for a sec," you said abruptly.

I stop up as you carefully wrapped your hands around my waist and pushed me into the lake. I could hear your faint laughter so I decided to get my revenge.

"I..... can't sw.....swim!" I spit out before dunking my head underwater.

"Fuck!".

I heard a splash and your cold hands reached for my waist once again. You lifted my head above the water and a puzzled look took over your face when you realised I was laughing.

"I was joking you dickhead,".

You looked so flustered and annoyed at the same time it was cute. I had never met someone who cared for me as much as you did.
