I woke up to an annoying beeping sound. I was expecting it to stop but it never did.

"Can someone turn off that god awful noice!" I said as I opened my eyes.

To my realisation, I was in a hospital room. You were sitting next to me. Your eyes were puffy and red and you looked drained.

"How are you feeling?" You asked.

"But achy but not too bad,".

"This is all my fault, Tay you don't know how sorry I am!".

"Shh this is not your fault, could you just explain to me who that girl was?".

"Her names Lacy Evelyn, me and her dated a couple years ago but when I came aware of her bitchy side, I broke up with her".

I didn't say anything so you carried on.

"She didn't seem to take the break up very well,".

"No shit, two years later and she treats you like she owns you!" I responded.

"If I knew she would be there I wouldn't of taken you, I am so so sorry Tay!".

"East listen to me, it wasn't your fault,".

You gave me a thankful smile and I returned the gesture.

I got released from the hospital not long after and I told you to go home so you could sleep but you demanded to stay with me. We ordered food then watched a couple movies.

It was getting late but I didn't want you to leave.

"Hey um do you maybe want to stay over tonight?" I asked.

"Do you think your Mum would be okay with that?"

"Do you think she gives a shit about anything connected to my life?" I responded.

A smile invaded your lips.

"Of course I'll stay with you Tay,"

This time I was the one with the smile laying upon my lips. I still couldn't believe you were real. I was super tired so I decided to get ready for bed early. I got into bed and you said you'd be up in a minute.

I realised this was how I wanted the rest of my life to look. I wanted to be able to go to sleep and wake up with you by my side. I wanted to get married to you so everyone knew I was yours.

I heard you walk up the stairs and go to the bathroom. A couple minutes later you walked in trying to be a quiet as you could in case I was asleep.

"It's okay East, I'm awake," I told him.

You tossed yourself into my bed and examined my bruised body.

"Ignore the bruises, they don't hurt much any-

"You are beautiful," You interrupted.

I stared at you in shock. How could you think I was beautiful? My body was skinny and torn. I didn't understand it but your comment made me feel loved. I wanted you to know how I was feeling but what if you didn't feel the same back, could I handle that rejection? To be honest, I loved you so much I wouldn't of cared what your answer was.

"I love you," I blurted out.

You stared at me as if you were trying to see if I was real.

"What?"

"I love you," I repeated.

"And I want to be with you for the rest of my life," I continued.

You looked so overwhelmed and my confidence suddenly shattered.

"Oh er, don't worry if you don't feel the same way I'm not expecting you too-

"I love you too," you took a long pause "and I couldn't see my future with anyone else. I've only known you for a year but trust me when I say it has been the best year of my fucking life! I have found myself dreaming of our future and what it will bring for us. Our wedding day, living together, maybe even having a family. I love you Tay and I hope you can forgive me for all the shit I've put your through,".

I was too stunned to speak.

Instead I just kissed you. I couldn't even put into words how grateful I was for you. I felt satisfied. Happiness filled my body and I was so content with my life.
I wouldn't of wanted it any other way.
