We had been properly dating for around 6 months now. I would see you everyday and you would often stay round mine. We had become so comfortable around each other.
I had met your parents on several occasions and I was pretty sure they liked me. I stopped visiting my therapist as she and I had decided I was doing much better. Everything was going to perfectly.
"We are going out for dinner tonight with my parents," you informed me, "I'll pick you up at 6:30pm if that's okay with you".
"Yeah of course, I'll see you then"
"I love you Tay,"
"I love you too,"

I still wasn't getting any faster at getting ready but I wanted to look my best in front of you and your parents. I wore a deep red dress with gold heel and matching jewellery. My makeup took hours but I was happy with the end result. You picked me up at 6:30pm just like you said. We went through the routine of telling each other how good we looked and I greeted your parents.
Me and your Mum got on really well and I felt like I could tell her anything. Your Dad didn't talk to me much but seemed really nice. I envied you for having such a caring family.
We arrived at the restaurant and it seemed pretty posh. You held my hand and led me to a table for 4. We all sat down and ordered our food.
You made conversation with me the whole way through the meal and made sure I was completely comfortable. One thing I loved about you was how caring you were. You had an ability to put everyone above yourself.
Your voice had been sounding more croaky than usual and sometimes I noticed you had been having coughing fits but I didn't want to say anything. I knew if I did, you would just keep telling me you were fine.
Your parents left a bit earlier and we stayed for an additional half an hour with no hurry to leave. We finally made our way out of the restaurant and as we did it started to rain. I paused and let the rain soak my clothes and hair.
"Dance with me," I said.
"Tay we are going to get soaked!"
"Please,"
You wrapped both your muscular arms around my waist. Whenever I saw couples dancing in films it would make me cringe but with you, it felt magical.
"What's that ring?" I questioned.
"Huh?" You responded confused.
I pointed to a thick gold ring which wrapped around his thumb. It looked so elegant and delicate, I couldn't help but ask where you got it.
"Ohhh, my grandparents gave it to me a while back, I never wore it because I thought it looked weird but now.... this is going to sound really strange but do you remember how we first met".
"Err yeah, I saw you on the street and asked for your number," I answered.
"No, you were originally looking for your ring, you had described it just like this one but was slightly less bulky, I think you had dropped it down the drain,".
"Oh I was wondering where that ring went," I laughed.
"So yeah when I found this one it reminded me of you,"
I leaned in and kissed you. Though I could still feel the pouring ran, everything became irrelevant. It was me and you. No one else mattered right now.
We got back to mine and you decided to stay over. We spent most of the night entangled, appreciating each other's company.
At that point, my life was completely and utterly perfect.
