Mr. Demon PoV

6 months have passed.

And in those 6 months, I decided to stay by the little girl's side.

And I was the one who offered it.

Hiyori immediately said yes while giving me a big smile.

Why did I offer that again?

Right, it was because she was a lonely child.

I won't stay with her for long though.
Once her issues with her social abilities and family life are secured, then I'll be leaving.

There is no need for her to get further attached to a demon like me.

I've also noticed that my some of my feathers have turned white...

Hiyori pointed that out 3 months ago.

I was suprised.

White feathers....

It it because by helping this little girl, the heavens see me on my path to redemption?

But why?

A fallen angel getting redeemed is not something that was written or heard of.

Once you've fallen, then you are eternally doomed to become a demon.

Or at least, someone who is refused to go back to Heaven.

So if all of the feathers of both my wings were to turn white....

Does that mean I can return to Heaven?

But I have no intention of returning to Heaven.

Not one bit.

I like this freedom.

And if the kid no longer interests me, then I shall leave her as well.

I have no attachment to her and it's better if she has no attachment to me.

One day, when she starts to be more self-aware....

She will only recognize me as some strange dream.

And soon, I'll be alone again.

" Mr. Demon! Come on! I wanna go to school." I heard her say.

I looked at her and nodded.

The past month, I was introduced to her school life.

And like she said, she was alone.

The other kids would rather not have to do anything with her.

Was it because they thought she was boring?

Annoying?

Well, from what I have seen during recent years...

Kids wouldn't usually be into reading or literature in general.

They are usually into playing games whether it's outside or through their devices.

Hiyori didn't have a cellphone since her mother is already struggling with money.
