" Look in the mirror, Beryl. It's you!" Ai was currently carrying Kiyotaka in her arms and having him face the mirror.

Beryl...

That's the nickname Ai decided to give Kiyotaka. He had two poisons to choose now, his full name or his nickname. But brushing that aside, he listens to Ai and looks at the mirror, that's when his eyes widened in suprise.

" Oh? You look suprised, hehe~ You must be absolutely ecstatic that you're handsome due to your mother's genes." Ai said with pride.

Kiyotaka didn't give it much thought before. But it's better to realize now than never-- that he looks like a completely different person. With his previously brown hair, now the same shade of blonde just like his other siblings, but the minor difference is that the end of each strand contained Ai's shade of purple hair. And his eyes remained golden brown just like his previous life, but the glaring difference being his pair of pupils-- two black stars.

Kiyotaka felt a bit...off-put by that. Why were his star pupils so different from the rest? It looked menacing....could it be a reflection of his own soul?

The darkness he's experienced from back then being carried over to this one?

He thought he'd escape it completely with this new life. But will it really just tie him down anyways?

" Your eyes are beautiful, Beryl." Ai suddenly said. Kiyotaka freezes his thoughts, as Ai continued to speak,

" I think black, in particular, suits you." Ai beams before raising Kiyotaka in the air and staring into his eyes. " It's like that wonderful quote of staring into the abyss and it stares at you back."

Kiyotaka was confused. What in the world was so wonderful about that?

Hoshino Ai was truly a bizarre woman.

" Well, it doesn't matter. No matter what you looked like Mama will always pamper you~!" She added.

Kiyotaka didn't feel anything from her words. It was all white lies, he thought. He was firm in his belief that all emotions were a mask to cover up a person's true thoughts. He had no doubt that Ai was probably the same, that she was also hollow.

....

It seems, the past really is tying him down. Even in this life.

Aqua's blue eyes glanced slightly to her breast and he immediately shook his head no with a blushing face.
