12 years later~
Fredrick's POV
It's that time of year again. The time of year when everyone acts happy. The time of year where everyone acts as if there's no problems in the world. It's fucking stupid.I was in my parents shed on the couch. I looked at the wall. I had a bulletin board and a white board nailed to the wall. I'm gonna succeed this year. I know I will. I'm gonna face that bastard. He's gonna pay for what he did.

12 years ago. I went to America. I have this memory of someone. No one remembers him but me. I got into touch with my Omi but she's very old and doesn't have good memory. But I know he's real. I have to admit. I was way younger. My older siblings just keep telling me I was dreaming or some dumb excuse.
I know they're wrong.
If I was dreaming then why do I have all this stuff? I have the letter he wrote to me, the Jack in the box, and the god awful bell. That thing taunts me every year. I can't stand it.
All of a sudden my phone went off. I sat up from my bed and grabbed it. It was my mom. She texted asking me to cook dinner because her and my dad were getting home late. She said they would be too tired. That's usually the excuse they make.
I got up and walked out of my room. I walked down the hallway and into the kitchen. What should I cook? Käsespätzle. That's my favorite thing to cook. I started getting out the stuff to make it when I felt a tug on my jacket.
I looked down and it was my little sister Essie. She's only 6 years old but I love her. She is the only sibling I have. All my other sibling moved out. Except for my older brother because his girlfriend kicked him out of his house. But I don't care about him.
"Um Freddy? What's for dinner? I'm really hungry" she said frowning. "Käsespätzle" I said smiling. That's also her favorite food. Her frown went away instantly. She smiled and said "can I help you get the stuff? I can do it fast" "sure. We need the pasta in the orange pack" I said. She nodded and ran off to get the pasta.
I finished cooking the Käsespätzle and went lay down on the couch. Essie was watching tv while eating. I didn't really want to eat but the food looked pretty good.
Ah what the fuck. I'll eat.
I stood up and walked into the kitchen. I got a bowl and put some food on it. "Hey Essie. Want anything to drink?" I asked from the kitchen. "Water" was all she said. I grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge and grabbed some juice for myself. For some reason I like to drink juice around Christmas.
I brought Essie her water bottle and sat down on the couch with my food. I started eating and watching the tv. I didn't do to bad on this. It's pretty good. Like I'm genuinely proud of myself.
After me and Essie ate it was about 8:30. We both usually go to bed at like 9:00 maybe 9:30. So we still have time. "Hey Essie. Wanna help me with something?" I asked. She looked at me a bit confused and asked "what is it?" "Well mama and papa said that I can make the shed kind of like my room. Do you maybe wanna help me clean it a little?" I asked. She thought for a bit then nodded.
Great.
We got up and went outside. I brought a few cleaning things. I have to mention the shed is pretty old but that's perfectly fine. It's made of wood and it apparently was built by my grandfather. And it's gonna be mine. I know I'm only 16 but I think it would be nice to have this little place to myself. I mean my parents never really used it. I just need to sweep a bit. And just tidy the place up.
I let Essie sweep the floors. I know she's a kid but it will keep her busy. I was dusting the shelves when I found a piece of paper on one. I grabbed it and looked at it. It was an envelope. It was addressed to... me? The hell? I got off of the stool I was standing on and ripped the envelope open.
$600 was inside. No fucking way.
Where the hell did this come from? I looked behind me to see if Essie saw but she was busy doing her own thing. I just looked back down at the money. Why was this in here? Oh well. I folded the money in half and shoved it in my pocket. I'm gonna have to hide that.
After cleaning for a bit I opened the door to see if my parents were home. They weren't. Maybe they were actually telling the truth. I checked the time on my phone and it was almost 10:00. "Freddy I'm tired" I heard Essie say. I nodded. "Yea it's past your bedtime. Come on. I'll bring you to the house" I said. Essie nodded and grabbed my hand.
We got inside and I brought Essie to her room. Before she laid down she said "Wait my water is by the tv" "ok I'll run and get it. Wanna time me?" I said jokingly. She nodded. I quickly ran out of her room to get her water.
When I ran back in her room I heard her counting. "22 seconds!!!" She screamed smiling. "I'm just that fast" I said with a smile. Essie just laughed at me. She's soo ridiculous. "Ok. Listen. I'm gonna be in my room. It's right by yours. I love you Goodnight" I said kissing Essie on the head. Right as I turned around to leave I heard her start to cry.
I turned back around. Very quickly might I add. "What's wrong?!?!" I asked. I didn't know if she was hurt. "Can I please sleep with you? I promise I'll go to bed. It's scary when mama and papa aren't home" she said. I smiled at her and picked her up. I put her on my shoulders and said "of course you can. Lead the way" "ok. Thank you" she said giggling.
Me and Essie went to my room and I threw her on my bed. Not hard but I pretended like I did. We like to fake fight sometimes. It's soo cute when she acts like she punches me. I act like I'm dead because it's funny.
Anyways.
Essie laid down and pulled the blankets onto her. "Ok. Goodnight Freddy" she said and turned around. "Goodnight Essie" I said with a smile. I took my shoes off and laid down by her. Well she was on the other side of my bed so I really wasn't that close.
But anyways. I looked up at the ceiling just because. I let out a sigh. I'm gonna get back to work tomorrow morning. Maybe Essie can help me again. Maybe we can buy some stuff with that money I found. That would be fun. I smiled to myself and rolled to my side. I eventually fell asleep after.
