We all want to be extraordinary
and we all want to fit in.
Unfortunately, extraordinary people rarely fit in."

"I'm glad to have you back, Ellie. I was going crazy with Todd and Juliet," Will said and smiled brightly.

My eyes widened and I instantly remembered the people who had sat with Will while I had sat with Parker. "Their names are Todd and Juliet?"

Will chuckled and shook his head but didn't say anything else. Instead, he raised his eyebrows and stared at something behind me.

I had convinced Mel to not tell Will and after a lot of screaming, we finally came to an agreement. Needless to say that I'll be giving her half of my allowance for two months.

"Don't look now but Mr. Popular and his groupies are looking our way," Will whispered. My head betrayed Will and snapped sideways to look at Parker's table.

Jenna's lips were moving impossibly fast and her hand was on Parker's shoulder. Sam was about ready to stab her eyes out with a rusty spoon while Jack was glaring at the floor, and Finn was looking at me pleadingly. My eyes finally met Parker's and- man, did he look pissed.

He had a scowl etched on his face and it took me a while to realize he was mad at me.

I hadn't really talked to him in a few days, I'd decided to just ignore him before Jenna ripped my throat out.

"I said don't look now, not Hey, Ellie, turn around and have a staring contest with these people," Will snapped.

I smiled apologetically at him once I turned around and shrugged, "Sorry."

Will rolled his eyes at me and stabbed his food while I smirked. "You ready for what's going to happen, underwear boy?"

We had both agreed that it'd be best to do it after school, when the last bell rung.

"I hate it when you win," he said through gritted teeth as if loosing was hurting him physically. It probably did.

I smiled and opened my mouth but closed it as soon as a dark shadow loomed over me. I stared at the shadow in confusion.

I turned my body- which was a decision I might end up regretting my whole life- and my face bumped into a hard abdomen. My eyes moved upwards until I met a pair of brown eyes that haunted my nightmares.

We stared at each other for a few seconds and the cafeteria went silent. Well, not completely. There were still some clueless souls that were too enhanced in their conversation. I missed being one of those people.

Parker picked me up by the collar of my shirt and brought me up effortlessly so that I was standing on the bench. Then he tugged the shirt until our chests were touching- was I really that short?

I had faced death a few times with Jenna and the Hulk, but never had my heart raced as it did now. I felt as if the whole school could hear it.

Come on, big man, don't let me die today, I prayed as I stared at those endless pools of melted chocolate.

"So it's over?" Parker spat lowly.

"W-what are you talking a-about," I stuttered which had me remembering that day in the mall. Except that this time I wasn't stuttering because I was scared at him. I was stuttering because of his proximity.
