Third Person's POV
Today was the big day.
Today was the day he waited for.
Today was the most nerve-wracking, yet exciting day.
Today was Taehyung's Debut.
Taehyung was not sure when he got to this level, to be placed onto a pedestal just for being good at following his dream. Yet he wasn’t the type of boy who would let himself fall from grace, either. So he took it all with poise, accepted perfection and made it himself.
Perfection is Kim Taehyung, Kim Taehyung is perfection.
They were that intertwined, he could tell in the way all the other trainees looked at him after he finished his monthly evaluations, they were in awe, yet nobody praised him. All he heard was 'as expected', because there was nothing surprising about the boy’s prowess anymore. That was what Taehyung felt happy about.
Being backstage before his debut performance was one of the most frightening points of Taehyung's life. It wasn't even because of nerves. Though that wasn't to say he was not nervous- he felt almost like he could faint. Rather, it was because of the hectic preparations of all of the backstage staff.
He got to hand it to them, they worked incredibly hard. It was already like an oven backstage, yet the staff still continued running around doing last-minute adjustments to everything. Taehyung thought they must be perfectionists, considering everything already looked amazing.
"Taehyung-shi" A woman said to him, bringing him out of his reverie.
"Can you tilt your head further to the left, please"
Taehyung complied and allowed the makeup artist to apply some of the substance on her brush. He had no idea what she was doing to his face, but he had been told the makeup is necessary to make him visible on stage as a human being and not a pale blur. It wasn’t as though he disliked makeup anyway, so he didn't object.
The makeup artist didn't bother making conversation. Then again, with how busy she and her teammates were, Taehyung couldn’t blame her. They didn't have the time to be messing around making small talk. They had a show to run. In this sense, Taehyung couldn't help but feel overvalued.
It was shocking to hear that he would be debuting. When he thought about it, though, the most surprising thing wasn't that he would be running the show. Rather, it was that he was going to be an idol and that he would be well-known enough to be the main star of a show.
Taehyung was good at singing, Taehyung knew this. If he wouldn't have been good at singing, there would be no reason for him to debut. But it was still odd for Taehyung to think of himself having an entire performance of him as a solo singer.
A panicked man came into the room, and the makeup artist stopped her strokes.
The man grinned.
"Bringing out the big glow, I see. It'll be fine, surely. We still have a few minutes to go" He looked over to Taehyung.
