I Do Care

Kaito's POV

'He...he really does care...after all this time... I thought my feelings were unrequited but I feel like he is slowly falling in love with me.'

"Ouma, wanna go somewhere else?"

"I know a place, let me just tell Miu that I'm not going to go home with her."

"Okay." I went over to Miu in her jeep.

"Me and Kaito are going somewhere else, so I'm not gonna be coming back with you."

"You're really ditching me for dick?"

"Sort of but not really."

"Fine, but you owe me big time for this."

"I know, I know. Go to bed and get s good night's sleep."

"Alright, be safe please. I don't what I would do something happened to you again."

"I know, I Iove you, bye."

"Love you too." Miu then drove off leaving me and Kaito alone.

"Let's go."

"Lead the way." I grabbed Kaito's hand taking him to a field with a white shed and fairy lights.

We laid down on the grass and interlocked our hands. We stared at the stars, our minds taking us away from this world, leading us to another. Words didn't need to be said, our breathing said it all.

"Y'know... you've been on my mind too." I looked over at him and he looked back. "You've confused me, you're an asshole to me but you also care for me...like earlier when everyone was staring at me, you were staring too but you looked at me very differently."

"I don't hate you...I really do care for you, a lot more than I would like." It was a few moments of silence but I broke it.

"Do you think this could work?"

Kaito's POV

My heat just skipped a beat.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean that...we care for each other and it's not like how it was before."

"You want my honest opinion?"

"The only thing I'm asking for."

"I do think it would work between us, we'd obviously have to try but we could be great together."

"Then I guess you wouldn't mind if I asked you to be my boyfriend..."

"Are you asking me to start dating you?"

"So what if I am?"

"I'd say yes."

"Will you be my boyfriend?"

"Of course I will!"

'If this is a dream then I never want to wake up...I'm officially dating him.'

"I know you're not out yet, so we can be together in secret."

"No, I want people to know that I'm with you."

"Even if it means your friends no longer accept you?"

"Even if it means my friends don't accept me." Kokichi smiled and rolled on top off me. I sat up causing him to sit on my lap. I rubbed my nose against his laughing.

He closed his eyes, pulling me closer to his face. I leaned in and stuck my tongue out as he opened his mouth.

He laughed into the kiss and I smiled.
