Chapter seven
Jamella's pov
"Morning dreamer, I'm here for a pick up." I held up my head a little startled and saw the new courier who had recently started doing drop offs and pick ups.
"Morning I was just checking something in my head." I said trying to not seem rude, but he was a bit creepy. I searched for his name on the pick up schedule and saw that he was early.
"Is number twenty-five ready?" I asked through the intercom and Ms. Maize replied.
"One moment." She came around with it and handed it to the courier after he signed.
"I do not like that man, this is the second time he has came before the time we have given him. If I wasn't so anxious for him to leave, I would have made him wait for atleast half an hour." I ranted.
Ms. Maise walked up to the glass windows overlooking the parking lot. "What is he looking for?" She asked in a whisper and I went around the counter quickly to look.
It looked as if he was trying to take down something from off the wall. Ms. Maize quickly went out the side door into the parking lot. I watched as he hastily walked over to his car, Ms. Maize smiled and waved at him then stopped and turned back as if she had forgotten something. Sygrid came up to the window looking out as well. Ms. Maize came in and he looked around then walked back to the spot.
"What's going on?" Sygrid asked.
"No time to explain go with Ms. Maize and follow her lead." I told her. She walked out fast behind Ms. Maize, who stopped and asked the man hasting away from the spot again if he was ok. He nodded and went into his car.
When he left Sygrid took a broom and pulled down a camera that was wedged at an angle to record the full view of the parking lot and side entrance. After putting on a pair of gloves Ms. Maize looked at the camera and saw that it had recorded Maniyay the night before. I called Maniyay immediately and told him. I wasn't about to tell my boss for fear of him throwing us out.
That afternoon I went shopping with Tamar, Maniyay had given me six grand before he left and Malique needed bigger clothes.
On our way back we stopped at the store so I could buy formula and cereal for my baby. Tamar went to get yogurts and I went to get the formulas, four aisles away from her. Someone gave me a mighty shove just I was turning around. I staggered regaining my balance and flung the tin of feed with as much force as I could muster into the person standing right infront of me.
The tin hit the woman straight in her face and she howled in pain. I grabbed up another tin of formula and hurled it into her back as she turned to flee. She gripped her back and sped out of the store with a few patrons looking after her. I turned and looked on the high pile of tin formulas she had pushed me to knock into. I would have had multiple concussions with so many tins falling on me. My head would bound to burst multiple times.
Paying for two tins of formulas I leave the store a nervous wreck with Tamar. I was so glad I didn't have Malique with me. Would that woman had pushed me down with my baby I wondered sadly. We looked around the parking lot but it appears she was long gone.
When we arrived back at the laundromat, the courier from earlier car was parked there. If Tamar wasn't already a few minutes late back from her lunch break, I would have stayed in her car until he leaves.
Dumping my shopping bags on the office floor, I marched to the front where raised voices were coming from. "What is going on?" I asked in a sharp voice.
