Alexander's  POV

I pulled up and parked into the my reserved spot, it looks like my father has been making some changes. I can just imagine how excited he is that I am taking over because a few years ago in college we got into and argument  about my future.

Mr. Reeves: I told you already, no son of mine is going to travel like he has no life when I have an empire to pass down to you.

Alexander: I never had an interest in having a job worse your company, it has nothing to do with me.

I walked into the office and everyone is looking at me. I wonder if that's how they normally behave. I felt a vibration in my pocket and saw a message from my father wanting to meet with me. I went into the elevator to see what was the matter.

Alex: Yes father you wanted to see me

Mr. Reeves: So Amara who will be your new secretary as of three weeks from now is taking care of the event, but I don't want to pressure her so I want you to help her and try to break that ice I saw her build in the meeting, what happened again?

Alex: Dad, I don't wanna talk about it. Mom didn't think she was good enough for me and she wanted me to get married to Cassady.

Mr. Reeves: But why not Cassady, there's no way you can form a relationship with your soon to be secretary, office relationships are never advised what if things don't work out either she'll leave or you'll denote her to some place you won't have to see her. Just think about it you can still date Cassady and get married.

Alex: I'm sorry but marrying someone like Cass is out of the question. You and mom might not see it but I do, I'll go talk to Amara.

Mr. Reeves: Call her Ms. Williams

Alex: (yelling) I preferred Mrs. Reeves better.

I walk to Amara's office and knocked on the door. "Come in" she said sternly. Is that how she sounds when she's working. She looks up and signs for me to sit down.

"So, my father said I should be of assistance with the upcoming events and maybe it will break the ice?"

"The first part he is right about, the second I doubt anything will be changing my mind." she said icily "You might see this as a way to reunite us but we are hear to work, I not here to flirt or rekindle anything, I'm being paid to be your assistant in keeping up with the company and it's well-being understood"

I scratched my head not sure if I could agree to all that but reluctantly agreed. After a few hours she closed the file and said I should bring it to the finance department.

"Would you like to maybe have lunch with me just as co-workers?" I asked. She looked at me in disbelief and rolled her eyes.

"It's like you don't understand English, but if it will allow me to live in peace fine."

We got to the elevator when my phone rang.

"Hello, (sigh) hello Cass, yes I'm on lunch now, I don't know I have company, Sultan's yeah, sure bye."  As I was talking I could see a sign of pain on Amara's face. I decided to clear the air.

"How about we go to Sultan's you used to love it there?"

"Sure why not" she replied with a forced smile.
