Adrien pov

I heard Azrael barking as I was laying in bed. I thought it was weird that Adrianna hadn't made him stop yet so I knock on her door.

No response.

I open the door and see the little dog scratching on the bathroom door. I can hear the shower on, but no music. She always plays music.

I knock on the door. "Adri?"

No response.

I knock again.

"Adrianna, you in there?" I ask a little louder.

Nothing.

I open the door slowly, and I'm greeted with steam. So much steam. How hot is the water?!

I open the door fully and Az runs in and starts to whimper. He's standing outside of the shower door, unable to see inside due to the glass being all fogged up.

I see a blurry figure crouched on the floor.

"Adrianna?"

Nothing. My heart rate picks up.

I open the shower door and see her passed out.

That's not what makes me freeze. It's all the scars and bruises on her. The scars don't look recent, but the bruises. They're still developing. What happened to her?

Her neck. My eyes widen as I stare at it. My eyes start to water, but I keep the unshed tears in them as I help her.

I quickly turn the water off, burning my hand from the water in the process. I get her towel and wrap it around her body as I carry her to her bed.

"MARCO!"

He's a doctor and I'm not sure if these burns need any medical assistance. Maybe he can do something for her neck too.

A minute later Marco walks in puffing. He sees Adrianna's state and quickly runs out of the room. He's either getting a first aid kit or dad. I'm still worried either way.

All I can think about are the bruises. On her neck and her waist.

Marco re enters the room and closes the door, locking it. In his hand is a first aid kit. I look at him worriedly. How is he going to react to the scars. I start chewing my nails nervously.

When he removes the towel from her he sucks in a hard breath through his nose. He looks at me, his eyes starting to water. His eyes go slightly darker and he shakes his head.

He's turning it off. He can't let his feelings get in the way while he's dressing her wounds. He needs to be focused.

He takes some cream out and rubs it over her skin where it's really red.

"The burns aren't bad but she's going to need to rub this cream on them for a few days. She passed out from the heat. She's lucky we have temperature restrictions in our water or she'd be a lot worse." He says in an emotionless voice.

She looks a lot worse. And I know Marco is thinking to too. He gulps before bandaging some of the worse burns.

I can't take my eyes off her scars. They're everywhere.

It's obvious what they're from but I don't want to believe it.

She's been stabbed.

Shot.

Whipped.

Cut open.

She's been ripped apart.
