Dream pov
We walked to the nearby café and talked about something positive all this time
"Do you have any pets?" he asked me
"I do! I have a cat patches"
"Really? I love cats!" he smiled
"Do you have any pets?" i asked
"I do. I have a cat too" he laughed
"Ooo what's their name?" i asked
"Well i didn't give him a name yet, so I just call him 'cat' for now"
"Ooh i see"
We approached the coffee shop and went inside, it was very warm in there, some calm music was playing in the background and the decorations... They were amazing! George picked out a special table that was very well decorated and just showed the christmas mood, we sat down and George started going through the menu
"Ooh, I'll take cappuccino as always" he handed me the menu with a smile
"You sure that you don't want anything else here? I mean, their chocolate is pretty good, i order it all the time
"I'll be fine don't worry, its not like I'm into chocolate.." he continued looking outside
"Really? Then why did you stare at that chocolate over there for all this time?" i asked with a smirk on my face while George annoyingly looked back at me and sighed
"Are you trying to force me to eat that chocolate?"
"Not really... Well, maybe a bit. I'll order it for you since i know damn well that you want it" i placed the menu on the side of the table and spoke up again
"We didn't have a proper talk on our way there, tell me more about yourself!" i smiled
"Well as you know, I'm a basic guy named George, who has absolutely nothing to do in his life besides working and taking care of the whole family." he laughed
"Really? Why are you the one to take care of the family?" i asked out of curiosity
"Well my parents passed away some years ago.. And i was left alone with my sister and all, i had no other choice but to get a job, well.. Many jobs"
"Many? Why do you have so many?" i wondered
"Well it's kind of private, let's just say they don't pay me that much" he ran a hand through his hair in awkwardness
"Mm.. I see, well maybe i can help you with something?"
"Thank you dream, but there is no need, as i already mentioned, i can handle my own life and... I don't really want to bother you"
"You don't bother me with that, but if you really need help sometime, you are free to ask me" i laughed as i noticed the officiant walking over to us
"hello! Welcome to the 'heart warming' I'll be taking your order" the lady greeted us
"Greetings! Could i have my usual order?" george kindly asked
"The cappuccino?" the lady questioned as she wrote down his order
"Yeah!"
"And ill have two chocolates with a cappuccino aswell!"
The lady nodded as she wrote down our order on a small paper in her hands
"Will that be it?"
"Yeah thank you!" george answered before i did. The lady nodded and walked away to prepare our order
"It's your turn to tell me more about yourself"
"I already told you almost everything.. So I'm not sure if there's anything left" i burst out into laughing
"That's right, i was just checking your memory"
We both started laughing because of george's awkwardness
--------------
After we drank our coffee we walked around the park for a little while until george had to go handle some 'business', he doesn't tell me much so i didn't know where he went, however i had no plans on asking him anyway.
I looked at the time and noticed it being '19:32' i ran home and started looking for those specific toys i bought earlier
"I'm pretty sure it was in the closet, however, where is it now?" i looked through the whole closet until i finally found them in one corner.
I instantly grabbed them and walked out of my house, it is pretty late indeed but this is the only time when children's hospitals accept gifts to the kids, such as toys, electronics and just basic money. I walked past many kids on my way to the hospital, some were all alone, some were with their friends or parents... But my eye always caught the kids who are alone, are they really that lonely? Or do they have a bad and unsupportive family?
I walked inside the hospital and got greeted by the receptionist - Marie, i know her very well by now since i come here almost everyday
"Hello dre! Came here to submit some toys as usual?"
"Of course, could you tell that kid from the room 363 to look outside the window after you give her the toy?"
"As you wish, but why do you never visit her in there? Why do you always do it through the window?" she wondered
"Well there is this hospital rule that - you can never visit a person if you're not familiar with them. You can count me as a stranger to her, y'know?"
"I guess you do have a point." the receptionist took the toys i had in my hands
"I really hope that she visits me when she's out, she seems like a person with the best and kind heart"
"Oh, she has a very dangerous sickness and her relatives can't pay for the surgery. So im afraid that.. Y'know" she looked away
"Oh... How much is the surgery?"
"5000€, i really hope her relatives can pay for it soon. They have about 29 more days left"
"What? Only 29?! Is there any chance that I can help?"
The receptionist looked at me with a sad grin on her face "It's up to you now. Find her relatives and then figure it out, im just a receptionist y'know." she walked away with toys in her hands meanwhile i walked outside to greet the kid i always give toys to.
