Snow in my face // DNF

Chapter 10

George pov

I sat on the ground as the lady stared down at me whilst waiting for my reply about the money. I was feeling so guilty that i couldn't even look at her, i was now sitting there for 10 minutes now, as i mentioned, nothing can help me right now, no one.

I closed my eyes as i heard someone approaching, following with small crunches due to the snow

(crunch crunch)

I noticed a shadow go over me, two shadows to be exact. One was taller and the other was much smaller. I got some quick licks on my face and noticed Marie

"Marie?! Oh my god" i pulled her in and gave her a hug while she just wagged her tail

"Y'know, dogs don't run away from someone when they have a good home miss, when you hire someone to 'babysit' your dog. Think about the consequences." i looked up and noticed dream who was holding Marie on a leash. He gave the lady the leash and gave me his hand to get up easily

I took it and got up while getting some snow out of my jacket & hair

"Well i did think about the consequences, however i did not think that it would happen!" she crossed her hands while the dog was standing near us still wagging her tail

(sigh)

Dream looked at the woman slightly pissed "Listen, be glad that i got your dog back, it doesn't even look happy to see your face! It's either yu treat the dog and people you hire better, or the consequences will go against you, different consequences now." dream turned around and started walking forward while i ran after him

"Thanks dream, you are like a winter miracle sometimes" i laughed and gave him a hug

"Of course, i saw you run after the dog earlier today, so i decided to help" he smiled and hugged me back "I'm just glad you didn't get sued and that i was right on time"

We both pulled away and laughed "She should've took a dog out of the shelter, rather than buy it from someone who can keep the dog safe. The dog didn't even look happy to see her" i looked back to see the lady struggling with the dog which wrapped the leash around her

"Maybe her name is Karen, who knows" dream shrugged and continued walking forward as i followed behind him

"Everything was going smoothly, but it all went downhill when we went in that dog park y'know, maybe she's just not good at making dog friends.."

"Or maybe she has bad memories with the park" dream finished my sentence

"Perhaps, well why were you outside? It's so cold" i pulled my scarf on my nose

"Off theme but you look like rudolph the red nose reindeer right now" dream burst out laughing

"Wh-i do?" i brushed my hand against my nose

"Well i-" dream stuttered while still laughing "I was visiting my best friend, he kinda had a problem with his... Bathroom" he scratched the back of his head awkwardly

"Really? Did his toilet flood the whole house?" i asked as a joke

"It did, not sure how you guessed but it did. Everything was completely flooded and that idiot didn't know how to handle the situation"

I gasped and laughed at the same time "Dream saves the day as always"

"Indeed, well, what's your dream?" he asked

"You mean my dreams to achieve in life?" i asked once again

"sure"

"Well... I don't know, i just want to be lucky for once and want my family to be just fine, the dream can't come true but one thing can!" i laughed while being close to crying

Dream just stopped and gave me a hug instantly after i finished the sentence

"You can count me as your 'family'!" he laughed while holding me tight

"Thanks dream"

He pulled away and we continued our walk.

GABBY POV (didn't expect this huh)

This was another boring day in the hospital. This morning i woke up early and stared outside from my window, however I noticed george running across the whole street chasing a dog! It was a golden retriever. He fell a couple of times but didn't give up

"Is that your brother?" one of the nurses asked as she chucked

"Who else, i wonder what happened this time"

The nurse laughed one more time until writing something down on her papers, i could see and understand her hand writing easily, so when she forgot to take the papering when she walked out of my room i read

"Gabby not found - 8 year old girl in need of surgery (immediately) she has a dangerous sickness that can easily end her entire future anything helps! Contact : **********.    
From - Helpem hospital
To - Helium hospital (other side of nyc)"

I sighed and set down the paper on the counter that the nurse left it at, i knew that i need surgery immediately, and George promised to help me survive, however i know that he simply can't afford it. My childhood dreams got crushed as soon as i got in the hospital, i knew what my condition was the second they gave me this room, however as a kid i should play along so george is happy, he matters to me the most right now.

I looked outside the window and noticed... George? Walking with the guy who always brings me toys in the distance, he seems so happy and full of life! I'm happy for him, and i am glad that he is my brother

I got up from my bed since a snowball hit my window, i looked down and noticed the guy who brings me toys everytime -  if im not mistaken, his name is clay! 

I slowly opened the window to hear what he's saying

"Heya! How are you doing?" he asked

"Hello! I'm doing fine as always, found some more documents in the need of surgery" i sighed  and closed my eyes

"Oh? Your sickness seems dangerous since they make so many documents about it"

"Ah, no. The sickness is a basic one don't you worry" i smiled

"you can always ask for my help y'know! I'd be as happy as you'd be to help you with the sickness" he smiled

"It's okay don't you worry" i smiled as he sighed and nodded "However" i interrupted him
