Chapter 23: Glimpse Of The Past

Audycious was walking around the castles courtyard when he saw Chieftain Fleetfoot staring at starry cloudless sky.

"What a beautiful evening isn't?" The Chieftain greeted him with a bow.

"Why do The Wise Chieftain Fleetfoot is still awake in middle of the night? Everybody were now resting and you should be too." Audycious answered.

"So are you young Prince, aren't you tired of the nonstop training of our comrades? Night Elves are truly remarkable creatures your fighting styles are so graceful but yet it also deadly." Fleetfoot complimented him.

"I truly appreciated that compliment Wise Chieftain." He answered he lend him a beautiful moon ring. "I want you to have this."

"This is magnificent! The craftsmanship! The details are so flawless!" Fleetfoot exclaimed in awe. "But I don't want to disrespect you but I cannot accept this kind of treasure my Prince."

"I know what you did few years ago. Before my father died he mentioned a wise chieftain who can transform to majestic falcon had help one of our people when she was being chased by the Solaris. And even that girl didn't survive she still manage to get back to our homeland to tell the tale. She was bleeding but she still managed to tell the story of your heroic act and kindness." Audycious answered as she watches the moon.

Fleetfoot look at him sadly.

"So that poor young girl didn't survive. Poor soul. I was just passing by when I heard the commotion. I tried to help her by attacking those Solari soldiers I didn't notice that she was deeply wounded that time. I should checked her out after those cutthroats fled." Fleetfoot answered.

Audycious looks sternly at him.

"Wise Chieftain I know it's in unapropriate to ask this question. Everyone was shocked when you revealed that you use to have connections with Kig Gideon of Rundarya. What really happened to that kind of union?" He asked.

The chieftain just smiled at him and he look again at the starry sky.

"We used to be childhood best friends. We met by accident. When they are hunting he accidentally shoot me here." The Chieftain shows Audycious a long scar on his left arm. He saw me returning to my human form he was mystified that he forgot his hunting lesson. He quickly runs towards me and he asked me what kind of person am I? He help me treated my wound and I answered all his questions. That how our friendship started. Everytime he will have his hunting lesson I'll secretly help him catch large animals to help him pass his lesson. Everything went too well to both of us until."

"Until what Wise Chieftain?" Audycious asked as glances at the Old Chieftain and for the first time he saw the burning rage on his eyes.

"He showed the Solaris the sacred village of the Allastors. It was a surprise attack we are not prepared and several of us are heavily wounded. Many young Allastors had died before we can fled. Those young ones are not yet ready to harness their abilities. We are forced to fled and to hide from one place to another. We became Nomads on our own land."

Audycious finally understand the reason why did they all agree to joined the Scorn Of The Moon. It's not just about the honor to help back Luna but also to get back what had been taken from them. Their land,their freedom and their peaceful life.

Audycious felt that he should leave the old chieftain in peace.

"Goodnight wise Chieftain please keep that gift for me. Thank you for the enlightenment." And Audycious left the Chieftain alone.

Meanwhile the other leaders had heard the conversation between Audycious and Fleetfoot.

All of them felt the pain that Chieftain had felt. They are fighting for the very same reason and they will pledge their life to get the victory to change the fate of their future.
