Trimester 1

Throughout my first trimester, I had horrible morning sickness, along with heavy anxiety and a strong determination to finish my high school education. I was twenty-one, and my life phrase when it came to school was "Better late than never". So with my laptop on my legs and a bucket beside me, I finished school, and received my diploma.

Around my eighth week of pregnancy, after long wanting to add a fur baby to our growing family, I came across a post from a local Facebook group and a week later we adopted a five year old tabby, who would become my best friend on long nights when my husband worked. It was kismet, his name: Jackson, the name he came with, and the name of the street I grew up on.

My first trimester consisted of staying in bed, eating saltine crackers, and bingeing on movies and TV shows, all with my furry little companion cuddling closely to me.

Even though I was horridly sick, I cherish those moments, the moments of cuddles, the moments of love, and the moments of hope and the thoughts of the joys bringing this new life into the world would be.
