With my third trimester came heartburn, fatigue, and very little motivation when getting ready for the day, let alone getting out of the house. By the time I had finished getting ready I would lay down to nap. It became harder to breathe as the weeks passed, but I managed as best I could.
The one doctor's appointment I had been excited for finally came, and that day I found out I was having a bouncing baby boy. I had wonders of if he would look like his father or if my genetics would win over. I was really hoping he would have blue eyes like his daddy. As far as could be told by blood work and ultrasounds, baby Milo was perfectly healthy and would make it to his due date.
We had a beautiful gender reveal, set in the park where his daddy and I had our first date years before. Family and friends came, we had a balloon to pop. As the blue confetti fell to the ground, there were tears of joy glistening in my fiancés eyes. This was a new journey for both of us, and while faced with some fear, it was a journey we both looked forward to immensely.
Our baby shower for our sweet boy was held at my father in law's, this shower included my favorite craving of barbecue chicken and we had a cake specially made for the big celebration.
Those who were not pregnant, so me being the only one excluded, drank and toasted to this new boy we would be adding to the family. I left the shower early, I say it was early but it was around midnight or so, it was early for me. Many stayed hours after I left, enjoying each others' company and it made me happy to see that my son was already bringing so much positivity into my loved ones' lives.
