Three weeks later

Lily had been the last week feeling very nauseous in the mornings and she don't really want to think what could that mean.

Lily: James, I have to tell you something.

Currently, James and Lily are on the living room of Potter Manor reading, James the Daily Prophet and Lily some book on runes.

James: Yes, Lils, what is it?

Lily: I think I can be pregnant; you know... of that night.

James stays silent, processing what Lily has said, while Lily is preoccupied about what James will do. After a minute or two, James at Lily while smiling.

James: Lils, it doesn't matter. We were looking for ways to have a kid anyway and we already knew that the kid couldn't be mine biologically, but I can blood adopt him or her.

Lily: You really don't mind?

James: Dear, I really don't mind, and if I blood adopt the kid, he or she will be mine too.

Lily: Okay, we will do that, but first we should make sure that I'm really pregnant and, are you going to tell the truth to your friends?

James: No, I think it's better if this stays between us.

Lily nods and she goes to change to go to St. Mungo so they can confirm the pregnancy.

They go to St. Mungo and there some doctor confirms them that Lily is really pregnant so they return to Potter Manor, but there they find a letter in the table that wasn't there before.

James: It can't be of an owl because they normally wait for the person that the letter is destined to.

Lily: I know, this is strange.

Lily looks at the letter and see that is directed to her.

Lily: It's for me.

James: Go on, read it.

Lily: I will read it aloud if you're okay with it.

James nods.

Lily: Okay, here I go:

Dear Lily,

Hello, I know that you may not know who am I, but I'm the one that you met that night at the bar and I know that you're with my child.

James: How does he know?

Lily: I don't know, I don't even think I gave him my name.

James: Do you think that he wants the child.

Lily: I hope not.

James: Continue, please.

Lily: I know that you may be thinking that I want the child and I really would want to but I can't because of a long promise that I did to my family, so I can't take care of him, I hope that you and your husband will, anyway.

At this, James sighs of relief.

James: I wonder what he means by promise?

Lily: Dunno, it seems that promise doesn't let him take care of any children that he will have, maybe outside of marriage.

James: Maybe.

Lily: I know that what I will tell you now may seem like a joke or something like that, but it's not I'm very serious and I hope that you will believe me, because if you not, that child will probably die very young.

James: What?!

Lily: I don't know, James, I don't want my kid to die young.

James: Don't worry, we will believe him, even if it seems a lie.
