Dan's POV
It's three am and here I lay, with dull pain in my skin and a fresh soar throat. I'm sure the throat issue isn't completely my fault unlike the marks on my tummy. Oops.
It's been a while since I have actually harmed myself, and to be honest I regret it to a certain degree. The other part of me is content with releasing what I feel in a form of pain, reminding me of my place.
Clearing my throat, I decided a smoke would do well as another form of release.
Pressing my body into the corner of the bench, I began to finish my third one, not doing any good to my body but what did I actually care? It's not like anyone else did. Taking a drag, I placed the cigarette on the ground before reaching out with my foot and diminishing the ambers lit in the end.
Deciding that now was a better time than ever to go up and try and gain an hour or two of sleep, I stood up and slowing trudged over to the doors.
Jade's POV
Waking up at about three fifteen, a mere forty five minutes since I dosed off, it was easy to say I was agitated. I figured I wouldn't be able to sleep, but little did I know that my neighbor had the same problem till I heard hacking and a door slam over on his side.
A small frown painted my face when I heard a muffled "bloody hell" and another slamming door. Right after another small spurt of hacks.
Well there goes any hope for sleep.
I pulled my laptop out from under my bed, deciding to fill my mind with random youtube videos until sleep took over.
Watching AmazingPhil's new video 'snocaplasm' when I heard another cough attack and a string of curses. That was probably the twentieth time Dan's coughing has interrupted my youtube zen. Sighing, I moved my laptop and stood up out of bed.
If he is really getting sick, he could use some soup. Even though it's late, I know he will be up and popping over to hand him a bowl might sooth his throat enough for sleep. Which will help me as well, it's not like I'm doing anything to impost any now anyway.
Slipping through the door quietly, my feet padded across the floor to the door belonging to the sick individual. It wasn't until I knocked that I realized how shitty I probably looked and almost turned around, warm soup and all.
About to do so, I began turning on my heel until I heard the door upon and a stuffed nose sniffle.
"'Ello?" A raspy voice belonging to no other than the blue eyed man. I turned to look at him, almost shocked at what I saw. He looked so tired, eyes puffed up and red, pale complexion, only a t shirt and boxers on his lanky frame. Not to mention, his hair was somewhat curlier than remembered. Parts of it hanging out every which way.
"Ehm, I brought you this. Since I heard you coughing and ehm hopefully it could help." I said shyly, holding out the soup. He looked into my eyes in both shock and gratefulness, before gingerly taking it from my palms, his long fingers rubbing against mine.
"Th-thank y-" he started before almost doubling over in a state of coughs. After a few moments, he was still coughing and just stepped to the side, inviting me through the door. I obliged and he led me to the sofa inside.
He finally calmed down as we sat and began speaking in a gravely voice, "Thank you for that Jade, it means a lot. Sorry if I kept you awake with my coughing, I guess my body didn't like the walk home in the rain and a smoke break."
"Oh you didn't wake me, and it's completely alright. I figured something was up, just want to help you out."
He smiled gratefully before digging into the bowl of chicken noodle soup. After a few spoon fills he moaned, causing me to tense at the little noise until I pushed dirty thoughts aside.
"This is amazing." He said, humming a toon of content. I didn't know what to do so I just muttered a 'thanks' and sat until he was finished.
"How are you feeling?" I asked.
"Still like shit, but my throat isn't so soar, thanks." He said, "Why were you up in the first place?"
"Oh just couldn't sleep I guess, and probably won't at all."
"I understand the feeling," he replied with a nod of his head, "Well if we both aren't doing anything then would you want to stay for a movie?" He began coughing after his request before adding, "You don't have to- I I mean you can but I understa-"
"That would be lovely, thank you" I interrupted with a small smile. He shyly smiled back before standing to grab a remote and set up the film.
"I hope The Goonies is alright."
"Yeah I love that movie, Mouth always has a special place in my heart."
He laughed at that, before the credits and previews began. Watching the ads, Dan began coughing profusely causing me to turn towards him in concern.
"Do you have cough drops?" I asked, deciding to play the doctor/mom roll he had no access to at the moment. He shook his head causing me to frown. I brought my feet onto the carpet and said, "I have someone at my place, I will be right back."
As I stood up to leave, his coughing subsided and he grabbed my wrist to stop me. "Don't worry about it, I'm fine. Sit down and enjoy the move Darling."
I shook my head, and spoke to him as if he were young, "Danny, I have to go get medicine so you feel better, that's what you want, isn't it?"
He look down and muttered something involving the words "nobody else" before nodding and loosening his grip. I hadn't realise the feeling his touch gave me until it was gone, so I placed my hand on his shoulder gently before turning away to get the drops.
When I returned the title screen was on and Dan was on one half of the sofa covered in blankets, causing a giggle to escape my lips. He looked up at me and smiled sheepishly, "I was cold, don't judge."
I smiled before making myself comfortable on the other half, tossing him the bag of cough drops.
"Thank you," he said and unwrapped one before popping it in his mouth. I said a quick 'welcome' before he started the movie. We took a few minutes to get actually settled, which ended in a tangle of legs after awkward glances. I realised how short I actually was in comparison to him. His legs devoured mine in length but mine were larger in mass, causing me to internally cringe.
With the blankets and the warmth from his legs, I never felt so content. Minus the feeling of being a pig which seemed to always be a part of my sub continuos.
After half way through, I looked over at Dan and caught his glance. We smiled at each other and he sniffled a little only adding more to how adorable he seemed to be.
"I want to go on adventure like that." I sighed as I watched them run and face the traps set up.
"It's never to late to go on one." He replied before smiled over at me. I smiled back before turning back towards the screen. And before long I heard his gravely snores that helped lull me to sleep as well
