Dan's POV

She clutched on to me, her forehead resting on the pulse in my neck. I wrapped my arms around her waist, feeling just how brittle she was.

"It's okay love, your here now. Your here." I reassured. In a way, she had returned, finally speaking and giving some form of emotion.

She went to pull me tighter, but at the same instant she brushed my bruised and scraped shoulder, causing a me to groan.

"S-sorry." She whispered, pulling away.

I didn't like the thought of her not being close, so I took my hands and placed them on her waist to pull her back. Her arms slowly wrapped around my middle and we stood there again, wrapped in each other's embrace.

Jade's POV

Eventually we found our way to the living area, his hand tightly holding my own. It took a while for him to get back there, he eventually put most of his weight on me and I guided him to the counter.

"Love? I got some food to eat, and I um, could you please eat? You are looking thin. Too thin." He asked, and I was hesitant, but he gave me a look with those stormy eyes.

"I, um," I cleared my throat,"Yeah, I'll eat."

He gave me a smile, revealing his crooked tooth, which made me give a small smile back.

He turned to the bag, taking out some contents, before turning back to me with a small bunch of flowers.

"I, these, um, here." He said awkwardly, handing them to me.

I looked up at him, taking in his nervousness state with a smile.

"They got, ya know, a b-bit smushed when I got pummeled, if you don't want them, I c-could pick you some other ones." He mumbled, turning his attention to the groceries.

I placed my free hand on his bare shoulder, "Th-thank you, Danny, I love them."

He turned to face me with crimson cheeks, "You sure?"

I nodded, still shocked he went out of his way to do something like this. I softly glided my hand up to the nape of his neck, playing a little with the short hair there.

"Thank you, for everything."

Dan and I ended up making pasta with Alfredo sauce and chicken. He was adamant that we made chicken.

It was quite fun making it, full of laughs and stories. It almost made me forget about the events that took place previous. Almost.

"Jade, are you going to finish that?" Dan asked, pointing his fork to the plate below me.

It still was more than half full, and I hadn't touched the chicken. My stomach couldn't take anymore food, and my mind didn't like the idea of putting more in my system.

"Yeah, I am full to the brim." I replied, patting my stomach a little.

"Try and eat a bit more, love, it's been a while since you've eaten." He pressed, giving me a worried glance.

I shook my head, giving him a smile.

"Danny, I'm full."

He shook his head, "Just a bit more, please."

I sighed, bringing the fork back to the plate, and twisting it with some noodles. I did that a few times, trying my best to please him, when all I felt was guilt and sadness with every bite.
