"Do you even know what sleep means? Because you look like you haven't slept in weeks."

"Maybe I would look better if you didn't pull me around shops all morning."

I didn't even have time for breakfast. Lydia ran into my room shouting that I should dress quickly as we were leaving.

It took me half an hour to get out of bed.

In the end, Lydia and I set out on a deadly mission. Shopping.

I don't know how she convinced Francesco to let me go with her, but I don't mind this. Besides the shopping thing.

"Why are we even here?" If we don't take a break, I'll have to drag my feet behind me because I can't anymore.

"Because you have to buy some things. You keep saying how bad mine are. So now you'll have your own." She smiled and applauded. "Plus, we have to choose a ball gown for you." I stopped in the middle of the store.

"What do you mean I need a ball gown?" I looked at her confused. Is there anything I don't know about?

"Francesco didn't tell you anything?" She raised an eyebrow. I nodded negatively. "He told me to take you to buy clothes and dresses for Saturday's ball."

So shopping was Francesco's idea. Good to know. But I don't understand what I need a dress for.

"What's on Saturday?"

"A ball for the founding families. It's such nonsense. Someone from every country comes to represent the family. Whether the small or large mafia."

"And why should I go there?"

This is a really bad idea. There's a good chance I'm going to run into someone who hates me, and it's not going to be good. It can turn out really bad.

"I don't know. And I'm really pissed at you because I wanted to go there. There are so many interesting people there."

"Especially in bed, huh?" I smiled. Lydia just rolled her eyes. But I saw that little devilish smile.

"We'll just pick a dress for you and ask Francesco for everything else. I don't have an answer to everything, like him." She took my hand and started pulling me into the store.

She stopped at every dress that was exposed. Neither was for me. They were either pink or too light. Those colors damaged my eyes.

"What about these?" She picked up a navy blue dress that looked like the most beautiful dress in the world. That is, until I saw them from behind.

"No way." It was a tight, navy blue dress that had a large neckline in the front and an even larger one in the back. No way. Someone would put his hand on my back and get right to my ass. "I don't even want to go there, so why choose a dress?"

"Because Francesco pays them."

"Are you telling me that everything we'll buy today is paid for by Francesco?" She nodded. "I'll bankrupt him." I smiled.
