"We're tired from the flight, could you send someone for our stuff, Margret?" I stood next to Amira and didn't forget to notice that she froze slightly

"We're tired from the flight, could you send someone for our stuff, Margret?" I stood next to Amira and didn't forget to notice that she froze slightly.

"Of course." Margret smiled at us and walked out of the villa.

I noticed that Amira was looking at me strangely. I would pay millions just to find out what's going on in that pretty little head of hers. She looks at me like she's trying to crack me. As if there was something she wanted to find out.

"Are you okay?" I asked with a slight smile. I don't think she was aware that she was staring at me.

"Yeah." She said quickly and gave me a small shy smile. What's wrong with her? "I think I'm going to sleep." She took a few steps from me to the stairs and pointed behind her.

"You should..." I took a step toward her but stopped when she interrupted me.

"Check for cameras. Of course.."

"Actually." I laughed. "I meant you should take this." I picked a small necklace from my pocket, which had been waiting for her for several weeks. It was my reminder that I basically failed. "For your safety," I reassured her when I saw her hesitation.

"Sure, thank you." She took it and put it in her hand. "Something else?"

I wanted to say no, but I couldn't. I won't sleep peacefully at night unless I tell her. I took a hard breath and started. "I'm sorry." The moment those words came out of my mouth, she took two steps back.

"Are you about to shoot me right now?" I tried to look professional and not burst out laughing here and now.

"No." I let out a little laugh. "That night in Russia. I crossed a line and I'm sorry." I really am. I know what she went through, but I was still a fucking asshole and said what I said. She is the last person who deserves it.

The corners of her mouth lifted into a smile and my knees broke slightly. What's wrong with me?

"Am I dreaming or did Francesco Moretti just apologize to me?" She laughed. "Can you say that again so I can film it?" She pulled out her cell phone and waved it in front of my face.

"Stop." I walked over to her and took her cell phone. "I'm serious." Her smile sank down. "From now on, you control everything. Everything involving Aaron goes through you. But you know I don't like orders, so don't overdo it." I smiled softly to ease the situation. She looked agitated.

I found myself looking at her lips, so I shifted my gaze to her eyes. Her gaze was on mine. There was a short moment when time stood still. She looked me in the eyes, and anything could happen. Really anything.

Like her running away for example.

She picked up the cell phone I was holding and started running up the stairs.

Did I do something wrong?

Of course, you did, you idiot. Otherwise, she wouldn't run away.

Not the right time for my subconscious to humiliate me here.
