Dream decided not to  finish that sentence. He rubbed his eyes and blinked. How the heck was this possible?! ...Then again, there were some pretty weird things on servers. He found himself sighing.

'This tree hopes that the young one is less confused.'

Dream began to respond when he heard a thump and a noise. He began to sense awe and happiness come from the tree like it had earlier. It made more sense now because he's apparently the tree's child.

     'Hello young one.'

Didn't the tree already greet- He heard a babble, a joyful one from what he could sense. Dream suddenly felt overcome with a childlike curiosity. With that in mind he went to stand. Or, at least tried to.

Dream huffed and tried again. He stood for a solid two seconds before falling back down. He growled a bit and kept trying to walk. He felt like a newborn foal. He was stumbling like a child, which he was now he guessed.

Dream huffed in frustration after falling again. He decided to give up walking. He did not, however, give up on sating his curiosity. He got on his hands and knees, and crawled. Definitely not his proudest moment, but he was a child now. Not to mention he was an actual skeleton for some reason and he had yet to get used to this new body.

As Dream crawled on shaky limbs he heard the noises grow louder. Yep. It was definitely babbling that he heard earlier. Dream soon came to another side to the tree. There he saw another small skeleton, happily babbling to the tree who had gained a confused vibe.

'Why is this young one not talking? This tree cannot understand gibberish.'

Dream continued to crawl towards the other skeleton. Now that he was getting closer Dream observed that this skeleton was the size of a very young toddler. Dream sat down once he determined he had gotten close enough to the other. Dream now realized that they were the same size and that... He was a baby now, wasn't he.

How did he even manage to speak towards the tree? Like- He's a baby?! ...Maybe he shouldn't be so surprised at that at this point. Dream sighed. Assuming they were just "born" the toddler most likely had never heard words before.

"You're onna have to teach..." Dream paused his statement. "What ender are we?"

'Ender? Oh! The young one means to ask whether he is male or female.'

     Dream nodded.

'The young ones bodies are male.'

Dream chose not to comment on the strange wording and looked back towards the toddler.

"We have to teach him words."

     'Hmm'

     "What?" Dream questioned.

'This tree thinks that raising children is not as easy as it thought.'

And Dream stopped to think about that. To, really, think about it. Dream never knew his biological mother. Sure he followed Puffy around but it wasn't the same. Dream looked towards the tree- No. Dream looked towards his parent.

Dream looked towards the ground. Family, huh?

...He had always wanted a big, happy family. This wasn't a big family. He didn't even know if he could consider them family. Not so soon. It would be a vulnerability.

What would come of it if he came to see them as a family?

One thing was for sure; Dream was always sure to protect those he saw as family.

And if a tree and the little skeleton became his family, whose to say he wouldn't protect them too.

...Dream was always sure to punish anyone who threatened those he saw as family.
