After almost one year of dating, Niko had finally brought you home to Oulu to meet his family. You understood why he had waited so long. The last girl he'd introduced to his mother, had cheated and broken his heart. But, the amount of time you'd had to anticipate this moment, had only served to make you nervous.

"It's okay, babe," Niko assured you, putting a supportive arm around your shoulder. "I'm sure they're going to love you."

You knew Niko was the eldest of four siblings. You weren't sure if you'd be meeting all of them today, but you were definitely about to meet his parents. Your boyfriend was a very family-oriented person. Surely if they didn't approve of you, it would make Niko second guess his relationship with you...right?

"I wish I was as certain as you are about this," you sighed nervously.

"Well, I love you," Niko shrugged, dotting a kiss on your cheek. "And I'm planning to tell them so, no matter what. So c'mon."

He led you up the driveway, to the front door of his childhood home.

" Hallo" Niko called, knocking before opening the door.

"NIIIIIIIKO!" cried an excited, high-pitched voice. You heard the sound of tiny feet racing towards you, before a little girl appeared, tackling your boyfriend into a hug.

You guessed this must be his youngest sibling.

"Hi, sis," Niko grinned, scooping her up into his arms, and squeezing her tight. "Did you miss me?"

"Yes, yes, I did!" the child cried excitedly. "You haven't visited us in forever !"

"Aw, I'm sorry," Niko said apologetically. "I've been very busy with the boys, composing the new album."

"Is it going well?" she asked, staring into her brother's green eyes. Hers were almost the exact same shade. "It's going awesome ," Niko nodded. "But, there's someone here that I'd like you to meet." He put her back down on the ground, and she looked at you for the first time.

"Oh my gosh" she gasped "are you my brother's girlfriend?!"

"Yeah" you giggled, extending a hand to her. "Hi. I'm Y/N."

"You're so pretty !" the little girl gasped.

"Yeah, I think so, too," Niko chuckled.

"Wait, wait, wait!" the kid realized. "This is the first time she's visited the Moilanen residence. That means I gotta go get the bow!"

"The bow?" you repeated, confused.
"Be right baaaack," the girl said cryptically, before running off to her room.
"Let me explain," Niko said, shaking his head. "It's a silly tradition, but she's been doing it since she was little."

"She's still little," you pointed out. The age gap between the two of them was unusually large. She looked like she was still in primary school. Maybe lower secondary school, at most.

"You're not wrong," Niko admitted, looking amused. "But, basically, this is what she does. Whenever someone visits our house, who hasn't been there before, she makes them wear what she calls the New Friend Bow."

"Here it iiiiiis!" his sister announced, running back into the foyer, and brandishing it proudly. You looked curiously at the item clenched in her tiny fist. It was a bright pink hair bow, bedazzled with dozens of cheap rhinestones.
