Summary: Lin has a crush on a certain Broadway actress who just so happens to be in his show as Eliza.

Lin was currently regretting everything. Why would he specifically request the actress he had been crushing on for years to play his on-stage wife???

'I mean, of course it's because she's talented and has an incredible voice and would fit the character perfectly,' he told himself, 'That is the only reason.'

At this moment, he was backstage as you, Jasmine, and Renée rehearsed 'The Schuyler Sisters,' and his practiced ear could easily pick your gentle voice from the combination of vocals.

"Eliza!" He felt his heart skip a beat as he peaked on stage and saw you dragging Jasmine by the hand.

As you twirled around the stage, Lin found himself admiring your smile. Your eyes sparkled in a way he knew wasn't acting, and a smile crept it's way on to his face as well.

He shook his head, trying to bring himself back to Earth, but ultimately found himself staring again.

Lin had decided to put off rehearsing 'Helpless' for as long as humanly possible. He knew you knew what to do, so he didn't stress about you being unprepared. He felt like he was unprepared.

What he didn't mean to do was put it off for so long that the two of you hadn't practiced it together a single time before opening night. But that didn't stress him out as much as the idea of actually performing the song with you.

It was currently the Winter's Ball scene and Lin could feel his hands shaking. Leslie noticed and, when it was time for Burr to tell Hamilton about the Schuyler Sisters, he squeezed Lin's shoulder and gave him a wink.

But Lin froze when he heard your voice.

"Ooooh. I do, I do, I do, I do."

You knew that this would, most likely, be your most genuine performance. The passion with which you sang was almost shocking. You channeled Eliza to the best of your ability, desperate to match Lin's acting and singing.

This was the song that you also were the most nervous, because, unbeknownst to him, you had the biggest crush on Lin for the longest time.

"I have never been the type to try and grab the spotlight."

'But you belong in it,' Lin thought as he waited for his cue.

"We were at a revel with some rebels on a hot night. Laughin' at my sister as she's dazzlin' the room. Then you walked in and my heart went..."

As you looked at him, ironically, your heart also seemed to explode.

"Boom!"

Trying to gain your composure, you spun around and pulled Renée to the side.

"Tryin' to catch you eye from the side of the ballroom."

'I always have my eye on you,' Lin thought, cringing a bit at how creepy that sounded.

"Everybody's dancin' and the band's top volume. Grind to the rhythm as we wine and dine. Grab my sister and whisper, 'Yo, this one's mine.'"

Renée squeezed your hands and shot you a wink before she walked towards Lin.

"My sister made her away across the room to you. And I got nervous, thinkin' 'What's she gonna do?' She grabs you by the arm, I'm thinkin' 'I'm through!' Then you look back at me and suddenly I'm..."
