Despite all of your worries it seemed that Scout's day at the dog daycare had gone rather well. In fact, it seemed to have gone really well if anything. When you came to pick him up after his first day Scout had a smile on his face and a bounce in his step.

He seemed rather relaxed when you saw him, and when you commented on his good mood all he really had to say was "I really liked working with the dogs, and my coworkers are pretty great. I'm going to like it here."

As for Alex when you asked how things went Alex had smiled, and let you know that Scout had done well and that the job was his. Strangely, Alex had patted you on the shoulder and also said "I like the guy. I think he would be good for you."

You had no idea what Alex had meant by that, and when you had asked Alex had just gave you a mysterious smile and said "Oh, I don't mean anything much. I'm just saying I approve."

You had only rolled your eyes upon hearing that, and written it off as Alex saying he approved of your friend and he was saying that in his own weird way. You were still a little nervous about Scout's next couple of days at the dog daycare, but as the days passed by without any incident you started to relax. Scout seemed to flourish at the dog daycare. Every time he came back home he seemed to have some story about the dogs that he cared for. Heck, once he figured out that he could text you pictures and videos you found yourself getting spammed with text messages full of dog pictures and videos of the dogs playing in the Dog Daycare's backyard. Honestly, getting a ton of cute pictures and videos of dogs during lunch at work was actually pretty nice.

It was also nice to know that Scout was happy. You had no idea that Scout liked dogs so much. If Scout's stay in your world was a permanent thing you could honestly see him trying to talk you into adopting a dog. At any rate things passed by rather peacefully once Scout got settled into his new job. The days passed by quicker than you expected. The days grew colder and more and more Halloween decorations started to go up in your neighborhood.

After a while you finally got your house all decorated for the holiday. You didn't have anything too crazy. You had some fake spider webs set up on your porch, a few small jack-o-lantern shaped lights set up around the sidewalk that led to your front door, and a doormat that was shaped to look like the face of a rather cute black cat. Your door was covered in smiling bedsheet ghosts, and in your window of shadow cutouts that looked like witches flying around on broomsticks, flying bats, and grinning jack-o-lanterns. As for your pumpkins you and Scout finally got yours decorated and set out on the porch. You had chosen the stencil that made it look like a bunch of bats were flying around a crescent moon. As for Scout he took forever to choose a stencil.

"I want something really cool!" Scout had said as he flipped through the book full of stencils. "I don't want anything simple. My pumpkin has to be the coolest one on the block!"

There ended up being five designs that he kept hoping between. He took so long to choose you honestly thought Scout would just throw his hands up into the air, and demand that he get five pumpkins so that he could use all five designs. Ultimately, he did settle on the design of an owl sitting on the branch of a spooky looking tree. It fit in rather well with all of your decorations. All of your decorations were cute things really. There was only one exception to your cute decorations, and that one exception was due to Scout.

One day when you had gone out to buy some good Halloween candy and to pick up some things that you needed for this dish that Scout wanted to make the two of you had swung by the gardening section of the store just to see what sort of Halloween decorations they were selling.

You had only intended to look, but one decoration stopped Scout in his tracks. It was a rather cool decoration that was made to look like the skeleton of a dragon. You had to admit it was pretty cool looking. It was also expensive. However, the price tag that was attached to it didn't seem to faze Scout much.
