Out of the Woods (The Walking Dead)
The Road:
"What do you think you're doin'?" Suzy heard Abraham behind her. She didn't care though. She wasn't going to lower her gun for anything, not until she had answers.
"Start talking," Suzy spat at the girl in front of her. The girl's eyes widened in fear. She had her hands up in surrender, hoping Suzy wouldn't shoot her.
"Start talking!" Suzy shouted. She charged at the girl and pinned her to the nearest tree by pressing her arm up to the girl's throat. She pointed the gun at her head and looked her dead in the eye.
"What did you do to him? Tell me!" Suzy screamed in her face.
"I-I didn't-" The girl stuttered, "I only just met him-"
"Bullshit," Suzy growled, clenching her jaw firmly.
"Suzy? Stop," Rosita said sternly, "I'm sure she'll tell us everything we want to know."
"Exactly-" The girl said. She attempted to nod her head in agreement as best she could despite being pinned to the tree, "I'm cool-I swear. Glenn-he-he's not dead. I swear."
"Then what's wrong with him?" Abraham asked, "Was he bit?"
"N-No-" The girl shook her head, "This man, Rick. He said something about some of his people being sick."
"You were at the prison?" Suzy said, not letting down the gun. When did the girl say yes, Suzy pressed the barrel of the gun to her temple, "What happened to them? You tell me right now or I swear I'll blow your brains out right here-"
"Okay okay!" The girl shut her eyes for a moment when the gun touched her, "Jeez, I'll tell you everything you want, okay? I told you, I'm cool. I don't want anyone else getting hurt today. Please."
A moment of silence passed. The girl didn't look Suzy in the eye and instead focused on the ground, so she couldn't see Suzy thinking about what she should do next. After another moment, Suzy begrudgingly lowered the gun. She still kept the girl pinned to the tree, though. She wasn't going to take any chances.
"The prison," Suzy said almost in a whisper into the girl's ear, "What happened to them?"
The girl finally looked up at Suzy with apologetic eyes like she could cry.
"I'm sorry," She said. Suzy's heart dropped to her stomach when she heard that. What did that mean? "It's destroyed."
The girl felt Suzy's arm holding her there fall as she stared at her in a look of shock and anger.
"This man told us they were bad people," She said softly. She was tearing up as she remembered what had just transpired, "He said they were killers. Mutilators. And that we needed the prison to stay safe."
As she continued, Suzy slowly backed away from her with her jaw hanging open. She wasn't stupid enough to not know who she was talking about. He finally came back, just as she knew he would. And she wasn't there to stop him.
"After everything, my sister killed him. Then all those things killed her," Now she was actually crying, "He said we could take that place without firing a shot. I didn't know what he could do. I'm sorry."
Suzy didn't know what to say. She blinked at least a dozen times to make her brain focus so she could think clearly. Should she ask? Did she really want to know? At this point, yes. She did. She had to know.
"Did-Did anyone besides Glenn make it?" Suzy asked. She hated that she sounded choked up. The girl shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know," She said, "The only one I know for sure about is Hershel. Glenn said he was Maggie's father. Brian-he...He had him hostage and...A sword of all things..."
