2014

Valerie POV

Before I could ask any other question, Pierce spoke up. "Natalia Romanova is the red head standing next to you." He said like it was nothing. "And how would you know?" I wondered. He wasn't a man known for speaking truthfully. "I trained her, just like I trained you." He replied. "Did not." I defended. "I did, why don't you just go ask your precious dad.... Oh wait... he can't remember." Pierce spoke in a mocking tone.

"I'm killing you!" I exclaimed in rage walking towards him. I saw the corners of his mouth twist up and into a smirk. A council member fell to the ground. And he was followed by everyone with a name tag except Natasha. They all laid on the ground with a two inch hole over their hearth. Natasha and Fury immediately pointed their guns at Pierce.

It suddenly went up for me that I also carried a gun. "Oh." I mumbled pointing my own gun at Pierce. "You all might want to take the guns off me, unless you also want a two inch hole in your chest, Natasha." Pierce reminded us. Natasha's hands were slightly shaking, but her face was completely emotionless. "Valerie." Pierce said turning to me.

"What?" I spat out. "You don't want your precious mommy to die right after you met her, and I'm sure she feels the same way." Pierce said coldly. I sighed before lowering my gun. Fury also lowered his gun, but Natasha was a lot more hessian, until she eventually lowered it as well.

Pierce began to blab again and I lost interest until he said they were only minutes away from beginning to fire. I couldn't see Steve, Sam, or dad through the window and the timer was not stopping. 3... 2... 1... 0..? Nothing happened. The hellicarrier's began to slowly turn towards each other. "What's happening?!" Pierce exclaimed frustrated and angry.

I wasn't really paying attention to his temper, my mind was wondering if dad and Steve were still inside those hellicarrier's. I hadn't seen them leave the hellicarrier's, but I hadn't been paying full attention either. Something told me they were still up there. Could they survive the fall? ...probably not. The water they would fall in did give them a higher chance, but the impact could drown them... or they could be hit in the head with something coming from above.

Natasha POV

I had stayed completely quiet since Pierce said he trained me. I couldn't remember ever meeting him before joining S.H.I.E.L.D. I remember having Valerie... but Pierce? I can't remember seeing his face at all. Not in the entire facility. "Are you sure you trained me?" I quietly wondered.

"Absolutely sure... since I obviously have the high ground here, I'll find some pictures... Valerie does look awfully a lot like you at 6 years old. I slowly nodded my head. In my right hand, I held a widow bite. Those things sting for sure, but not more than a two inch hole in my heart.

"Now council woman, you are going to fly me out of here." Pierce said after he was done gloating over the fact he indeed has trained me. He harshly put his hand on my shoulder and began to guide me out of the room. "You know... there was a time a time I would off token a bullet for you." Fury said just as we reached the door. "You already did." Pierce said laughing.

Even Valerie found that a little amusing and was trying her best to not show it. "You will again, when it's useful." Pierce said keeping his eyes on Valerie who had gone rather quiet by now. As his eyes were trained on Valerie. I activated my widow bite. Those things really sting.

3rd person POV

Natasha fell to the ground after activating the widow bite in herself. Valerie, Fury and Pierce all looked at her like she had gone mad. Pierce's only weapon was now disarmed for the time being, and Fury used the time well. He shot Pierce two times, and he flew into the glass wall, breaking it on impact.
