This time I was ready for the morning, my arms tightening as he tried to pull away. For a moment Daryl seemed to think I was still sleeping, his hand trying to pull my arms off from around him. I pulled on him more and nuzzled my cold face into his back, "No."
"(Y/n)," he chuckled, "I will be back... I heard something outside."
Opening my eyes, I realized it was even earlier than yesterday, "Noooo. It's probably just those fat ass coyotes."
"For our sake, I hope not."
"Come on," I heard footsteps outside, "Rick is already taking care of it~ just- stay." I hummed as he turned, facing me as my hands now sat on his chest, "Tempting..."
"Really," I pursed my lips, "why go investigate when you could just stay here... maybe do some different... investigating?" I even shocked myself as it slipped from my lips, his eyes widened and he slowly leant forward our lips connecting. This time it was a little more electric as his hand slowly snaked its way down my leg, pulling me impossibly closer to him, Daryl turning me on my back and hooking my leg on him. I pulled away slightly, licking his lower lip and pushing back in for more, both of our breaths getting shorter. My hands moved up his neck as our lips molded and moved together in sync, my stomach tightening as his hands made themselves comfortable on my thighs. Daryl pulled away causing a small whine to leave my lips at the loss, "I would've reconsidered our sleeping arrangement if I knew how hard it would be to get up in the morning."

I smiled as he stayed hovering over me, the amount of softness in his eyes was something I have never seen before. Did I really hold the world to him? "I wouldn't say that's so bad... would you?" Without a word, he smiled and leaned back in again, his lips pressing soft open mouthed kisses over my cheek, "I'll take that as a-"

A small ringing caught my attention, Daryl's lips pausing on my jaw, both of us freezing. I nearly pushed him off of me, both of us clamoring to get to our feet and untangled from the sleeping bag. My heart was already racing but it practically stopped cold as a small scream sounded outside the tent. I ripped away at the zipper, my hands shaking, "DARYL!" He grabbed the fabric and ripped it open, "SHIT-" We both fell out of the tent, I climbed to my feet and ran to the generator tent, "RICK!" I screamed out and could see he was already coming out of his tent. Daryl got to the generator, tackling the walker to the ground and off of who I realized was Carl. I fell to my knees and pulled the boy farther away, "Oh god!" He cried out and pulled hard on my sweatshirt, my toes and fingers quickly grew numb from the cold but it was easy to ignore as adrenaline pumped hard through me.

Rick fell to our side and wrapped his arms around us, not caring about me being taken in as well. "Are you okay?!" I pulled away and looked over Carl, everyone having filed out of their tents with items to protect themselves. Glenn and Maggie ran to Daryl's side, trying to take down the walker. A lump got caught in my throat as I noticed a bit of red splashed over his neck, "Oh god- Carl did you-"
"No," he pulled away from my hand, eyes hard on me but still full of tears. I let out the air I was holding in, "Are you sure?" "Leave me alone!" Rick grabbed his son by the shoulders, "Carl she is just trying to help."
"I just don't get it!" he choked out, "Just because you kiss dad doesn't mean you get to act like mom!"

My blood ran cold. Everyone audibly let out a noise, Rick almost sounded as if he was strangled. I shook my head, "Carl-"
"-No! Leave me alone!" he got to his feet and when he went to turn, he came face first into Daryl's stomach. Carl let out an aggravated sigh, "Ya know- you were right," he looked back at me, "she is a stupid bitch." I watched in shock, my throat tightening as my eyes eventually came into contact with Daryl. The emotion that slid itself over his features might as well been an acquaintance. I didn't re-greet it and I wished it would go away. Sofia. When he shut himself off after all of that... this was its twin. I felt sick to my stomach as Rick scrambled to his feet, "CARL!" chasing after.

I stood up, looking around I noticed the looks of pity and second hand embarrassment over everyone's features. My toes began to feel the burn and so did my skull from Daryl's hard stare. Maggie came up and put a hand on my shoulder, "You should go get changed." I nodded and quickly walked away, trying to ignore the shocked looks everyone shared. As I headed back to my tent I looked over and saw Lori standing outside her tent arms crossed. Carl seemed to be getting in trouble and to be honest, I couldn't find the courage to care. Stepping up to the tent, I noticed the zipper was now broken, pulling the flap to the side and climbing in. Daryl followed behind and rigged it closed. Our backs facing each other, I started changing. What if my silence made me look guilty? No, there is no point in explaining... looking over my shoulder, I saw his back, dark puffed scars scattered across and his tattoo. I felt sick to my stomach. He really thought I was out making out with Rick didn't he?
