two days left...

This one morning, I woke up and gazed directly into the ceiling. The city's noise was loud; I felt some kind of stressed way that wasn't usual. The first thing I did was check my phone. There were no notifications, as expected. But something felt really off; something wasn't right, and I didn't know what it was.

I opened the messages app and immediately texted Luna.

"hey, we don't have class today, right?"  Then three dots appeared on the screen,

"Nope, most of the school's are inundated because of the rains yesterday," Luna replied.

I checked the time; it was about 9 am.

And then I remembered... it was late, and Sakuta hadn't texted me yet, there's no way he was asleep.

I started spamming him with messages. I began by saying...

You:
hey,

You there?

Where are you?

The dots on the screen suddenly stopped. So I kept texting, but all my messages were left on read.
I got kind of upset. Had I done something wrong? Why didn't he reply?

I kept on texting:

You:

Hey?

If you don't answer, I'll just go to your
house, is something wrong?

What did that even mean? Did he actually want me to show up at his house? I was confused and scared; why was he being dry?

"I'm going."

I was mainly scared; I stood up and only changed my shirt, I still had the pants from my pyjamas on, and I couldn't be more upset. I put on some shoes and walked towards the kitchen to hold an apple before going out.
I took the keys to my car from the counter and ran to the parking lot. I got inside my car and drove to Sakuta's apartment. We both lived alone, and it was hard for both of us, if I'm honest. I don't know if he often felt lonely, but I did; I like to be alone, but I don't like feeling alone. Feeling alone was horrible.

Sakuta lived twenty minutes away, and if you're asking yourself why we don't live together, it is only because his residence was extremely close to his school.

I started thinking of the night before, or even the day before. I didn't know what had happened and the reason why he was acting like this; he wasn't like this.

And then I thought... was this seriously a good idea? Should I go to his house and show up like nothing, not even knowing what had happened, not understanding why he was acting like this, simply clueless? It wasn't a good idea. But I had to find out some way what had happened.
