I laid beside Ichigo in my bed, her eyes glistened, and her little nose looked red. I looked back at her, and before I could say anything, she asked, "Why don't you want to celebrate your birthday?" I looked stupid, and I didn't know how to explain it.

"Ichigo... my parents were never there for me. And it's stupid, but... the fake love they shared on my birthday, all the gifts and smiles that would go away the next day hurt me. And I haven't celebrated my birthday since I moved out." I sighed, "long story short, I don't like birthdays because they feel fake."

She stared into my eyes in sorrow; I felt bad because she only wanted to do good by celebrating my birthday. She tried to make me happy.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be." She giggled. Seeing her happy made me happy. I wanted this forever.

But it wasn't guaranteed to last forever,
"I love you," She whispered. "—To the moon and back." She kept gazing down, and her smile would never fade while she was looking at me. She made me the happiest. I saw her stand up and put her shirt back on.

"Hey hey hey, where are you going?"

"I'm going to head home. I have to do homework," My brows knit together.

I wouldn't say I like school.

"I have class tomorrow, and I can't do bad at school," She turned around and stretched her hands forward; I held her hands and sat down. "No, why," I whined, causing her to chuckle.

"I'll come here later, I promise." I didn't believe her. She would always say that and then never come back.

But I needed her to come back. And then I remembered... "There's a festival going on tonight, will you go with me? There will be fireworks and lots of food and music and stuff," She rolled her eyes but ended up nodding. "Yay!"

"I'll text you when I get home."

"Alright, bye."

ICHIGO

Once I got home, I immediately went to my room to do the homework. I finished late, though I had to be at the festival for Sakuta.

I took my phone and texted him.

You:

You:

Sakuta, I'm here, where are you?

I couldn't see him; it was dark, everyone was making noise, and the massive number of people didn't benefit.

You:

Sakuta, I'm here, where are you?
