The next day...

Valerie can't believe that she just let them sleep in her house without much care last night. As she woke up from a knock on her bedroom door while Mikey is still hugging her, a wide-eyed Takeomi sees them.

Silence.

"Sorry for the disturbance" He says as he closes the door.

To wake up Mikey again she touches his soft hair and combing it with her fingers.

"Mikey-san wake up its already morning"

"No. Five...more.....min..u.."

He is still hugging Valerie.

Perhaps Takeomi thought that they're still sleeping and is making breakfast for all of them. Removing his arms were hard since he's strong and the last resort is her metal arm to remove him from her body.

"*sighs* finally"

Val changed her PJs to normal clothes, a bit loose long sleeves and denim shorts. Got out of the room to see if she can help her guest.

"Old man do you need some help?"

"Hey...old man..is a bit..."

Takeomi probably forgot his age right now because this reminded him of how he tried to reconcile with Sanzu and cooked for the three of them.

Without saying anything back Valerie just prepared the table for three persons. Still Sano Manjiro is asleep they started eating without him.

"How do you know my name by the way?"

"I just know"

"You live alone?"

"Yeah"

Then after that Mikey woke up and sat to eat breakfast. Still dazed he ate what Takeomi cooked and finished it. He asked a question,

"How do you know Takeomi?"

"As I told the old man..I just know"

"From your hobby?"

"You could say that"

A bit of silence.

"You...you guys are Bonten right? The criminal organization?"

Just a reminder that no one really knows Bonten and police can't reveal their identities and what they look like. They're the 'worst criminal organization' in Japan right now and the only known fact about them was their tattoos. And it's not shocking for a civilian to know Bonten since they're on the news sometimes, but also from a civilian to know their names is dangerous. It's either they die right now or be tortured.

But Valerie was not afraid of that she can take whatever they'll do to her. The aura around them changed.

"Do you want to die?"

Mikey's tone was commanding and threatening. He was still looking at her demanding an answer.

"Try me Sano Manjiro"

Val also didn't flinch when he said that. Death was always around her so she's not afraid to face it, not to a fellow criminal. She stared at Mikey void of emotion in her eyes.

"Ehem! Mikey let's leave now we have many-"

Takeomi tried to diffuse the tension between the two youngsters but it's useless since Val isn't backing down.

"Just so you know I bought this house and it's mine now you can't just threaten me."

Emotionless she continues.

"This used to be your house right?"

What Valerie did only worsens the mood.

"Tell me Sano Manjiro why do keep following me huh? Did I do anything to you? As far as I can remember nothing."

Valerie thought of it after Mikey left that day, if she's to be involved with him her life that she wants to live, which is, right now will crumble. She will be dragged to whatever they do and targeted by other criminals.

This freedom she got by her friend who died will be in vain if she is to be involve again. Val is ending it right here, right now.

"Threaten me all you want but I'm not afraid to all of you"

With that Mikey got pissed and suddenly threw her by the shoulder and landed on the ground. Pulled his gun and pointed it at her cheeks while straddling her.

"I can kill you right here and be done with it! But you just have to keep quiet and do as I say!"

"Mikey!! Stop this now!!"

Akashi Takeomi can't do anything but talk him out of it. Even though this civilian knows who they are he can't risk Mikey killing her, Val is the only person who calms him. But with this happening it might not be.

He knows that Mikey is impulsive in his actions and through the years Bonten became like that. He is feared by everyone in the organization because he's unpredictable.

"Your answer Val?!"

"Try me!!"

Pointing it at her forehead, he's getting impatient.

"MIKEY!!!"

"SHUT IT AKASHI!!"
