CHAPTER THREE

"What are you looking at?" Itachi voices out.
The blonde woman yelps loudly, surprised by his sudden appearance.
"Where did you come from? Anyway, come, look." She pulls him by his arm and points at the sky. Still puzzled by what she is trying to show, he looks at her, as she does the same. Noticing his confusion she starts to specify more.
"See, that cloud over there, look closely, it's very faint but just try to see it." She points again.
Squinting his eyes, he looks closely to where she is pointing at. After a few moments of looking, his eyes widen in realization. There was a very small cloud with a rainbow ring around it. It was very vague, but nonetheless, a stunning sight to look at.
"Wow..." he mutters without realizing.
"I know, beautiful isn't it ?" she asks him.
"Yeah, it really i-"
*THUMP*
Itachi gets cut off by a soccer ball striking at his face. Turns out a few kids were playing around and accidentally kicked the ball in his face.
This didn't stop them from laughing. Itachi clutches his nose and gives them all a glare which made them all run away.
"BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA THAT WAS ONE GOOD HEADSHOT 'TTEBANE!!" loud laughter fills his ears as he turns around to face the same woman, this time instead of looking up, she was on the floor laughing to her heart's content.
He gives her a glare that ceases her howling.
"S-sorry, b-but it was really funny 'ttebane." she cries out with anime tears in her eyes. Itachi rolls his eyes and walks back to the store.
"Hey Ita- woah! what happened?" Jiraya asked him.
"Some kids kicked a soccer ball in my face." he complains, annoyed.
"AND I MISSED IT?!" Jiraya gasp dramatically.
"Hn." Itachi rolls his eyes and unclutches his nose.
Luckily the hit wasn't so bad so it didn't hurt for long. He walks back towards the window display to continue his work. Looking out the window he looks for the blonde, only to see that she had left.
Putting her in the back of his mind he resumes working.
-Timeskip-
"Itachi, please lock up after you leave!" Jiraya bids him goodbye.
"I will!" Itachi replies. He steps down the ladder as he had finished stacking the new books Jiraya had bought. Jiraya normally closes the bookstore at 7:30 PM but knowing that Itachi would like to read something before going home, he leaves the store under his watch, trusting he will lock up.
Itachi finally had so time to read. Sitting down with a book, he completely immerses himself in the work of fiction. He was reading, 'Tales Of The Gutsy Ninja' which was one of Jiraya's most original works, it was also his personal favorite. This novel had gotten him to love reading and writing.
Ever since that day, he never felt the same. So reading this book gives him hope, hope that he can finally feel normal, hope that he can be himself one day.
