"But I thought you didn't like him?" Beth eyed me suspiciously while we were walking into Maurices, an overpriced clothing store. "I didn't, I mean I don't." I said quickly. "Uh huh. I mean, I totally don't blame you for warming up to the guy. He's hot." She smiled and began rummaging through the racks of clothes. "I'm not warming up to him. I just think I may have been quick to judge him." I corrected her. "Whatever. If you don't plan on getting with him, let me know. I'm more than willing to take one for the team and let you know how he is in bed." She winked dramatically. "You're ridiculous." I shook my head and looked through the clothes with her. "Oh my god. You have to try this on." She gasped and pulled a gold dress off the rack. "Ew. Gold?" I gave her a look that said 'are you crazy?' "Just try it on." She rolled her eyes and tossed me the dress. I caught it right before it hit the ground and walked slowly to the dressing room with Beth right behind me. "Oh wait!" She said excitedly, and grabbed a pair of black pumps off the shelf and handed them to me. "Ok. Now go." She motioned for me to start walking again. "Are you trying to kill me? Because that's what's gonna happen if I put these shoes on." I complained. "Quit yoir bitching and just go." She said impatiently. I sighed and walked into the dressing room. The dress actually didn't look that bad with my complexion which was surprising. The heels were a bitch to get on, but once I had them securely strapped around my ankle, I opened the door to show Beth. When she seen me, her face erupted in a smile. "That's it. You have to get that. It will drive Erick crazy. In fact, he might like it so much that he'll just take you upstairs instead of the party." She smiled. "Oh my god. Is sex all you can think about?" I asked. "I can't help it. I haven't gotten laid in like two weeks." She whined. "You poor thing." I said sarcastically. "I know. It's awful." She replied. I just shook my head and turned to look at myself one last time. "Seriously though, you're getting that dress and those shoes." She demanded. "I don't know. I don't want him to think I'm trying too hard." I looked at her through the mirror. "But you also don't want him to think you're not trying at all. You two have been flirting for almost two years and he finally grew the balls to ask you out. You need to make the most of it." She stated. She's right. "Ugh. Fine." I groaned and shut the door so I could get dressed in my normal clothes. I heard her clap through the door and I couldn't help but smile. Once I looked like a human again, I took the dress and shoes up to the counter and paid for them. Remember when I said the store was overpriced? Yeah, the total for my dress and shoes was $180. Crazy. "I can't believe I just spent almost two hundred dollars on two things. One of them being a pair of shoes." I complained. "But you look freaking sexy so it's money well spent." She said brightly. "Yeah, yeah." I said dryly. After about another hour of walking around and watching Beth flirt with random guys, I decided to go home and get ready. Today is Friday after all. That means the party is tonight.
